Dont know why the one fan conducting thing has never caught on over here...been to loads of games in europe and virtually all groups doing the singing are conducted by one or two fans...normally with their backs to the game and looking at the fans..the inter milan fans especially...got to be seen to be believed..

What about the club paying someone £20 an hour for 2 hours to conduct? Probably best if it wasn't a fan because they wouldn't mind missing the game then and could even help come up with songs... just a thought?

me and the missus went to valencia vs real madrid last month and valencia had two groups of fans numbering probably 500 each who made the atmosphere in a crowd of 50,000...so on a much smaller scale i reckon it could still work.

There would be plenty of Musical Directors looking for work, more than capable of doing the job and could even come up with ideas for new songs. If I were living in Devon I'd look into it but perhaps a bit of research into the local Am Dram types could be worth a punt. Most societies will probably have at least a couple MD's for their shows so theres usually someone up for grabs.
