FA Cup 1st Round Draw - Sunday 27th Oct

Post by tktufc91 »

Torquay ball number 43 for the FA Cup 1st Round Draw tomorrow afternoon.

Who do you want? Will we do better than our first round exit to the mighty Harrogate last season?

Home tie is a must for me. Gives us a bit of a chance with our current form.
Na, na na, NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA, TORQUAY!

I'll take Buxton away.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Brislington would be lovely for me. About 6 minutes from my house!

Anyone away localish to me will do, although I won't complain with two home games against the lowest racked side in the two draws.

All I say is don't think any game will be easy, as harrogate proved last season.

Harrogate are out of the cup so we won't get them this time round.

For purely selfish reasons I'd rather have an away game in the first round as I'm working that day!

Here are today's 4th Qualifying Results, so you can see which non league teams we could draw.
The 1st Round proper draw is not regionalised, so we could draw any of these, or of course a league team

Who fancies Gateshead away ? or Barrow ?

4th Qual results:
North
Macclesfield Town 7-0 Vauxhall Motors
Stamford 0-2 Hednesford Town
Grimsby Town 3-0 Rushall Olympic
Worcester City 1-1 Lincoln City
Bradford Park Avenue v Kidderminster Harriers (Sunday 27th)
Wrexham 2-0 Hyde
Workington 1-3 Stourbridge
Southport 6-2 Marske United
Colwyn Bay 1-3 Corby Town
Tamworth 4-1 Solihull Moors
Nuneaton Town 0-2 FC Halifax Town
North Ferriby United 1-3 Alfreton Town
Brackley Town 0-0 Barrow
Chester 0-1 Gateshead

South
Hemel Hempstead Town 3-3 Sutton United
AFC Hornchurch 0-0 Hereford United
Ebbsfleet United 1-1 Dartford
Barnet 3-0 Concord Rangers
Chatham Town 0-2 St Albans City
Dover Athletic 3-0 Oxford City
Boreham Wood 1-0 Heybridge Swifts
Bath City 0-1 Salisbury City
Gloucester City 3-1 Hampton & Richmond Borough
Weymouth 1-2 Braintree Town
Forest Green Rovers 0-1 Bishop's Stortford
Needham Market 0-1 Cambridge United
Biggleswade Town 1-0 Canvey Island
Shortwood United 1-1 Aldershot Town
Woking 0-1 Luton Town
Brislington 0-1 Welling United
Hartley Wintney 1-6 Daventry Town
Staines Town 0-0 Poole Town

Did they get through? I was hoping for them, as well. (Just looked - saw they lost to Welling)

I used to much prefer the draw when the first two rounds were regionalised. It meant that, quite often, you got a non-league team away and I used to love those trips. I remember some trips to places like Windsor & Eton, Fareham, Slough, Sutton and Basingstoke among others. There would always be a decent away following and good atmosphere but since they nationalised the draw, the chance of these sort of ties have receded a little.

If Poole can win their replay, that would be a good place to go, or Daventry, Biggleswade or Gloucester.

Gloucester, I think are still playing at Cheltenham (I could be wrong there) so that would not be interesting

I hope we avoid Borehamwood who have a real holligan problem at home
