New loan signing
TORQUAY UNITED PRESS RELEASE
Thursday, September 26, 2013
UNITED SIGN AZEEZ
UNITED are set to add 19 year-old striker Adebayo Azeez to the squad after agreeing to sign him from Charlton Athletic in a one-month youth loan. Azeez is an England Under-19 international and blessed with outstanding pace.
He came through the youth system at Charlton, making his debut for the club as a substitute in the FA Cup last season. He has also enjoyed brief loan spells with Wycombe Wanderers and Leyton Orient.
The deal will be completed on Friday morning and Azeez is expected to go straight into the United squad for our weekend trip to Newport.
‘’Ade is an exciting young forward who can play anywhere across the top,’’ said United assistant manager Chris Brass.
‘’He has league experience after spending time on loan at Wycombe and Leyton Orient. He’s got an abundance of pace and gives us something different.
‘’It’s a good time to bring somebody into the club and we’re always looking to strengthen. It should also aid his development and we’re grateful to Charlton for allowing us to bring him here.’’

It's official on Charlton site. Nice option to have and with a bit of pace. I see he will still be available to play development games for Charlton during the period of the loan if not getting enough game time. Good for all parties. Glad that we are not sitting still.

presumably this means that we'll be losing Callum Ball?

I think this could mark the end to callum balls loan spell but it is exciting to see players with lots of potential wanting to play for us. Welcome Azeez!!

I'm not sure he really sounds like a Ball replacement, more someone to play in Hawley's position or out wide...

Will someone please yell me who is Mozika?,Whats he done and where has he played.
He is a combative French central midfielder, who has played for Knill before at Bury and Scunthorpe. Word is, he has been training with us to gain fitness after an injury last term, with a view to signing for us.frenchgull wrote:Will someone please yell me who is Mozika?,Whats he done and where has he played.

Thanks, let's hope he gets fit and stays fit and may I say bienvenu.
Does this mean we will be getting a rendition of some old Akinfenwa songs on Saturday? "Bay-o, bay-ay-ay-o..........."
I agree with wivelgull - as he has never scored a senior goal for anybody it will be another surprise if he scores for us.
Interesting signing, looking forward to seeing him play.
