I like Courtney Richards. Whole-hearted player who is much better than some would have you believe. I was very pleased that he re-signed for us and I think he would make a good captain. He is still only young and I actually think he could go on to much bigger things, so I hope the club are protected in that way.

No he shouldn't as he was one of our worst players. But who else do we have?

I agree. I don't think Luke was effective in his time but Arman maybe, or McGinty. He was vociferous and commanding at Tivvy .
But I would question whether to promote a new boy to the role as it could upset the changing room.

Agree. It worked with Angus , so why not Richards . Let's remember towards the end of the previous season Angus was verbally assaulting fans on the Popside and his time at the club looked over. So let's get behind Richards and the team.

No one knows better than Nicho who should be Captain.

Anyone who has any doubts should read what Nicho has said on the OS.

He definitely knows what he is doing.

All ye with short memories !!! When Angus was made captain last season, many on here were saying Courtney should be captain. Lee Mansell was perhaps not the best player in the team, but he was a bliddy good captain. I see Courtney in the same mould - he hates losing.

Courtney did an outstanding job as captain over the Xmas games last season - as he's proved he has the right qualities, it would be harsh for it to then go to someone else.

I think what's more important is we have a number of players of captain "material" in the side. McGinty captained Aldershot last season I understand, obviously Young has been captain for us, and then you have experienced players like Verma and Lathrope. Buckle's tenure here showed that having a number of leaders on the pitch can be a good thing

I'm actually fairly happy with this choice. Very much in the Lee Mansell mould which in my view is what you want in a captain.
Mmmmmm, beeeeeeeer.
