Just because PW says his phone has been red hot doesn't mean the product on offer is always one he wants to buy.
Patience, PW arrived with 1 player under contract, it's likely recruitment will go right to and past the wire, us fans need accept this may take some time to gel.

survey
Finally got around to filling out the survey. First things first, the one thing that grinds my gears and it does in all walks of life is apathy, and those who display an apathetic attitude get zero respect from me, if you've got something, or a situation etc, etc that's not working out, we'll never change it by shrugging shoulders and excepting that's just the way it is.
So it angers me when anyone talks about 3,500 gates at Torquay, all you get is 'that'll never happen here' you know some won't come when it's wet and cold, well if your one of those the word 'wet' applies , team results matter, yes they do, and some won't come when your losing, but if the clubs being run properly, the relationship between fans and club is good, then many will forgive a run of bad results.
Friday night kicks offs as said will be a non-starter, can't see the national league allowing it, also with many night club events and social stuff the youngsters like to go to, exiles etc, can see for a few extra that may come, losing a few more and potentially this having a negative impact on gate figures rather than positive.
The three points I've made on the survey, very much inline with others, cashless turnstiles, end the £2 matchday surcharge (and that's what it is)and no10's.
Lets start with cashless turnstiles, this is with no doubt putting some fans off coming, however I can see it being logistical nightmare in all seated areas, fine, apply it to the popside only where it would work an could attract more fans in through the gates, or do it on a trial basis to see what effect it has on gate figures.
The £2 surcharge is just wrong, it penalises those who just don't know until the matchday whether they attend, for instance someone on a zero hours working contract who isn't required for work at the last minute, some who's had an event cancelled, why should they have to pay more to watch the same game, I know it was brought in to keep match day ques down, but this is just madness, we want ques, I want to have to leave the gulls nest 30 minutes earlier to get my normal spot on the popside, it means we're bigger gates, and the more money coming, in the better standard of player follows etc.
No10's, I've been as a match sponsor guest, and booked in for matchday food, the price for what is basic bog standard fair is too high, either change the price, or the quality, maybe return to the carvery set up of the past, they were always top notch.

Bryn Consortium Take-Over
Being honest honest couldn't give a monkeys toss about the outgoing directors and my message would be forget them and move on. This is confirmation of the news we've all been waiting for , and never thought I'd being saying this, a positive future lays ahead for our great club now, however I'm expecting there to be long road ahead, and we'll need patience and to give our backing along the way.
Honestly feeling like a kid at Christmas right now about our club, looking forward to having my first season ticket in 4 years, a new shirt, may even get a training top, and certainly buying into the community share issue when it's launched.

Jon Gibbes Company Secretary
I would like to add my congratulations to Jon, I know Jon enough to say hello and have the odd chat, don't know him as well as others, but always found him to be a truly decent man, and very professional, great appointment.

In the spirit of fairness and honesty, I'm NOT saying that anything I've posted or about to post is 100% correct either. Lets deal with the 2 year/3 year contract first, think a lot have been posting about Mcgavin being on a 3 year contract because it's stated on a transfer market website as such, I firmly to the point of saying I'm 99.9 % certain this information is incorrect, and there's plenty of evidence some which I've cited in above posts that would suggest McGavin was only on a 2 year deal.MoxGull2502 wrote: ↑26 May 2024, 13:40 Apologies if wrong but thought I read on other site, no fees while any club is in administration. I might be wrong,
If he was on 2 year and many here and on other site have said 3 how much do you think he is worth ?
I've read through the posts on the BPTIR, no where does it suggest a player under contract can leave for free whilst a club is under administration and player embargo, forgive if I'm wrong. To me a club under embargo not being able to transfer in a player, not being able to offer an existing player a contract extension, or offer a player out of contract a new deal, is understandable and makes perfect sense.
What doesn't make any sense what so ever, is a player under contract, in which case the club in administration would own that players FA registration and that player would be listed as an asset on the clubs balance sheet regardless of any value being allowed to leave, without a formal transfer agreement, or any fees/compensation paid where applicable, can't imagine any administrator being happy about that, as we all know their job is to secure the best deal for the creditors.
In the case of McGavin, as said I firmly believe he's not under contract for next season, however if he was say, being it he is 24 and has been a first team regular, whilst I don't know what he'd be worth, I expect there to be some nominal value.

Why not? If under contract he's an asset, if his wages were paid up to date, the club surely would not be in breach of contract.MoxGull2502 wrote: ↑26 May 2024, 13:20 In Administration so even if he was on 3 years don’t think we can get anything ?
Anyway good riddance to him. Not a Warnock / Wotton type of player and a failure here in my opinion.

My time at Torquay has come to an end, it’s time for a new chapter for me and my family. I can’t thank the staff, players and fans enough for making Torquay my home for 2 years. I wish the whole club good luck for whatever comes next and getting back to where you belong![💛](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f49b.svg)

OK, let's try a more direct approach, Brett McGavin never was on a 3 year contract at TUFC, read his tweet for start, and for seconds, if he was on a 3 year contract, what transfer agreement has been reached with the buying club as McGavin has confirmed he's left TUFC on X

Begbies Traynor Administrators of Torquay United.
That's not really a question I, or any of us can answer, nor do I see as a question for us to answer. Your knowledge on this subject is far greater and wider than mine so not questioning you at all here, but I seriously doubt any forward planning by the Bryn consortium has been done on a forecast they might sell X-hundreds of season tickets.
As a layman looking from the outside in, I see our new owners offering to pay creditors off 'in full' rather than pence in the pound, in a very timely manner, I see them secure the services of an up and coming manager that would have required compensation to be paid, and the setting of a playing budget that's been confirmed as one of the biggest in the NLS for next season , they've not done all this with out a serious plan in place and finance to cover it.
Couple that with a partnership with local kit suppliers VX3 and the futuristic kit designs us fans got to vote on , so fan engagement already on the up, and community involvement already happening through TUST, which already have volunteers to help tidy up the ground, as well as tradesman offering time and materials FOC, just as I said they would 6 months ago on another thread and got sneered at for, I would say all signs point towards our new owners as to having their heads screwed on in all the right places.
How far and how fast TUFC progresses from here is going to be partly down to us fans, and how much patience we have, and how far we're prepared to back them, I'm already looking forward to the community share issue, I've stated all along I'd buy in, and I will.

No surprise on McGavin the information listing McGavin as being on a 3 year contract was incorrect, at the end of last season booth, and I believe both Moxey and Hall pretty much confirmed that Booth was the only player contracted for next season, this was also confirmed at the Paul Wotton, Neil Warnock press conference where they stated there was only 1 player under contract for this season coming.

The Bryn consortium offered for all creditors to be paid in full within 6 months of the takeover, can't see the need to complicate matters.

Excatly. Neil Warnock has gone out of his way, and made it very clear he's does not want to be in the dressing room, on the training ground, he's here to help only, not sure what else can be done or said.

Away Kit?
I'm nonplussed about away kit designs, always have been, always will be. To me it's all about the home kit, that's what you associate the club by in fact all clubs by their home kits, this is the kit design that needs to be 100% right and lasts seasons was an abomination with it looking like a seagull had shit down the front of it.
So why not have a bit of fun with the away kit? When I first saw it thought wow, that's certainly different, what peaked my interest was reading through the opinions of fans of other clubs, some were thought provoking, many congratulating TUFC for moving away from the generic plain same old same old designs.
What occurred to me, and I've posted a few times about the ever growing number of young supporters, is how some of these kits could appeal to the younger fans, never played GTA but there seems to be clear link on the design of option no2, guessing a company like VX3 are very well aware of current trends, so maybe on to some thing here.
Anyway I've voted for no2

New manager announced - Paul Wotton
I only got a chance to listen to the press conference yesterday, thought both Warnock and Wotton came across very well, this is a sound and sensible appointment in my view, Wotton is SW based knows this level very well and look at what he's achieved at Truro with nothing, not even a home ground, so ticks the box in terms of someone who is proven at worked with restricted finance.
At no point during that press conference did Warnock once make it about himself, he talked about how his experience in management evolved the same way Paul Wotton's is now, he talked about how he'd helped and advised Paul Wotton before and is here do so when needed, but made it clear PW is in charge of team affairs. Having Neil Warnock around is going to be invaluable, not just to advise the board but also PW and help guide the club the times, where by it will hit a brick wall on and off the field, I, for the life can't see why anyone would be concerned about Neil Warnock's involvement.
Also with Neil Warnock we have someone at the club who can pick up the phone and ring any club for a loan player, if and when needed and secure a decent loan, with the parent club happy in the knowledge their player is going to be well looked after.
Totally agree with Southampton Gull, jeez, the day has come that I, we all thought never would, we have our club back, this great club of ours will not drop any lower, there are only better days ahead, how can we not be happy about that, said it before, us fans now have an opportunity to back the clubs new owners, and help build something really special here, possibly bigger and better than we've seen in our recent history, you can do that as an exile by buying a season ticket 'if' you can afford to do so, or as a local attending every game, win, lose or draw, the club will get there quicker with backing, however we will need a take the rough with the smooth, which I don't mind now we're owned by genuine fans.
Encourage friends to come along, a mate of mine has got a Brentford fan hooked, and I've sold the club to a Doncaster Rovers fan who's moved into the area, can only see better days ahead.

Are you a TUST member………
I respect everyone has the right to an opinion, and do with their money what they wish.
To those voting no, the reason why I didn't join TUST before is they had no voice at all with the club, they do now, this is our chance to back the new ownership and help rebuild the club into something we want it to be.
