Re: Hazard and the ballboy

Apparently, he is the son of the main shareholder and director at Swansea City, and bragged on twitter beforehand how he was 'needed' to waste time.
http://metro.co.uk/2013/01/24/swansea-b ... s-3364904/

What I'm surprised about is that no-one is criticising the referee for allowing the blatant time-wasting by the Swansea players and all of the ball-boys. I know it's considered to be part of the home advantage, and they were winning etc., but they were taking the p*ss yesterday.

happytorq wrote: On the flip side, interest on mortgage is tax-deductible, so most people who are paying off a mortgage end up with a pretty hefty tax rebate each year (especially early on in the mortgage because of amortization) - that encourages people to buy sooner than they can probably afford to.
Mortgage interest is NOT tax-deductible; that 'benefit' was stopped in 2000.

If you're a buy-to-let landlord, then mortgage interest and some other 'business expenses' can be used to offset the taxable profit of the rental income.

What an arsehole. Get over it Allen, you were bested by 'little old, Non-League, not fit to kiss your hairy white arse, Torquay'.

Still, they have every reason to be pleased with themselves, they haven't been prosecuted for unfair dismissal this week, which must make a nice change of pace...

Matt The n00b.
A bit of an over reaction ..... ? Pot, kettle, black?

Don't you have anything in your life that has perspective? If you're so bitter all the time, you must have very little in your life that's really important.

Football and its participants (no apostrophe) are always liable to hyperbole, so why does it bother you so much?

Re: Goal scoring. That's what its all about!!

I like a good stat.

http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/S ... 26,00.html

Here it shows that Bodin has had 50 shots on goal (the highest of any of our players) of which 23 were on target. And we know he has scored just 3 times.

An overall 6% success rate is even worse than Luis Suarez!

Another stat. here is that Howe is the 'fouliest' player in the division!

Of course, as you're so intelligent, you would know that it should be 'its display', no apostrophe.

You were probably just testing us, being so superior.

But according to this list ... they have

Wed 17th October Notts Co v. Sheffield Utd

Not a surprise really, given their league positions, geographical proximity, and their largish fan bases (for advertising revenue).

After 5 games last season, we had won two and drawn two, and so had 8 points.

Being unbeaten is a good thing, but we need to turn draws into wins. If you include the end of last season, we have won only once (Rochdale) in our last 12 league games, including the two play-off matches. A little worrying.

Re: Abandoned games rule changes

forevertufc wrote: Good idea Andy, re-start the match from the time its was stopped, with the scoreline standing, that would stop any dodgey practise going on.
Tricky. Would you have the same teams as when the game stopped even if those players have been injured later? How many substitutions allowed from the restart? Do yellow cards carry over from the initial game? The winning team could play a team of 11 defenders and/or the losing team 10 attacking players and a goalkeeper. It might become farcical. To me, it's simpler just to replay the whole thing.

You might find this article interesting, where the result of an abandoned match was allowed to stand.

Duh !!! No you missed mine.

Why shouldn't other teams try to stop Cavendish winning? They were not there to help the GB team. You implied that the pesky foreigners didn't do what we wanted them to.

The GB team's plan had been widely publicised, had been used in other events before, and the assumption was that they were so invincible that Cavendish was bound to win. Other teams tried to disrupt that plan and in that they were succesful. Even the GB coach Brailsford has said since that if the race was rerun today, they would employ exactly the same race plan. So in my opinion, they've no-one to blame but themselves.

So the other teams should have done more to help make sure that Cavendish won?

Even using this site, it is difficult to see whether the shirts were still gold or yellow during that period.
