We have a second goal keeper
There's a joke in there about our keepers being called Clarke and Osborne but I can't quite put one together yet...

Club Badge refreshed
I'm a fan, and as others have said it feels like the club is being taken in the right direction, new website new branding (this will look far smarter on BT sport highlights for example) and new youtube/audio of matches.

TUFC 2017/18 Squad
Richards is described in this week's Non-League paper* as being 'without a club' so I imagine he's off for good.
*The article was about a training camp for non-league players organised (and funded) by Jamie Vardy to try and help get them spotted by league clubs. The players had sessions run by various top flight coaches and scouts from the top 4 divisions were in attendance.

I suppose we keep doing this in the hope we'll find the next Jamie Vardy or the next Charlie Austin....but I'm gonna go on a limb and say they're probably quite naff! Bloke from bideford(?), Chamberlain, was keen so why not give him a go. At North Ferriby he was one of the better players and he only played 10 minutes.

Where's everyone gone in the forum?
I still glance at the boards and come here on match days to read the write ups but rarely contribute now.
Unlike most of you I'm not Devon born and bred. I, like many, inherited Torquay as my football team from my family most of whom still live in South Devon. When I went to University in Exeter I went to pretty much every home game for three seasons with my Grandfather, who between last season and this sadly passed away. With my Grandad gone, the major factor linking me to the club has gone. Also in the season down time I moved jobs and where once I could happily browse the internet and read and post on here, I no longer have that luxury. These two factors, coupled, mean I struggle for enthusiasm at the moment.
That's the personal reasons why I've not posted of late. On to club reasons:
1. We're rubbish and that's not going to change any time soon.
2. I believe in Nicho, but I don't believe in the people who are running the club, good intentions, sure, but are these the people who are going to inspire people to turn up and cheer the team on?, no.
3. The defence, seriously!
4. Promising signings, not delivering the goods. I remain optimistic on this front come on Sparkes you can do it!!!
4. COMMUNICATION, lack thereof. No-one cares about pre-match meals, tell us how close to breaking even we are.
5. Bickering with TUST. I'm a member but shan't be renewing, why can't everyone just be friendly?
6. I'm disappointed at the lack of baby merch the club stock (I mean come on we would've splurged serious £ on a decent first baby shirt with surname on back - I appreciate this is a unique, minor, gripe)
7. The poems in Highway to Hele, rubbish
All of this doesn't change the fact that My Dad and I will still go to the away games we can, my son will be raised yellow and blue, I'll use my mug with pride at work and I'll log on here every now and again and have a little whinge.
So, I too share the apathy of the fanbase.

North Ferriby v TUFC Match thread
A few things for those who weren't at the game that will not have been relayed by Radio Devon:
1. I felt sorry for you short arses as the urinal tray was very high up indeed, that said the facilities were still many times improved on those at Bootham Crescent.
2. North Ferriby take the tops of bottles to prevent them being used as missiles, yet the home end backs on to allotments and there were much more suitable missiles of apples, pears and plums poking through the fence onto the terrace. One of them to the back of the head would definitely sting.
3. Decent stewards, they marshalled the blatantly smoking Hull Gulls and ensured everyone was well looked after and treated with respect
4. The wind was whirling, impressive and certainly prevented a a Williams goal
5. The wind blew in regular whiffs of Humber

505 attndance, estimate about 70 were yellows.
For me the five were:
Lathrope
Chamberlain (sign him up)
McGinty
At a push add:
Sparkes
Chaney

We'll be heading over the humber bridge tomorrow for this one, I've listened to all the games do far this season and we have the makings of a good side we're just lacking in execution.
This is going to be Sam Chaney's year so he's a starter for me, I'll be interested to see how we line up in defence and from a personal point of view I'm looking forward to seeing Dan Sparkes play. 0-2 Gulls with Blisset on the end for each.

Left back and another winger are priorities for me, alongside an experienced 'brute' CB to guide the still young Angus MacD.
I notice that the 2 reserve keepers from last year - Fisher and Corderoy were invited back for training so do we think there may be some thought of using one of those guys as a part time back up, perhaps?
Whatever loanees we get in we can expect to see them on a season long loan as KN himself has stated how unfond of short term loans he is and certainly these short term chaps won't add to the togetherness and team spirit Nicho has instilled in the squad.
Exciting times.
