Player of the Month - August
Posted: 06 Sep 2014, 17:20
I waited until the Official site announced theirs (Courtney Cameron won it), to see how they differed to the results from adding up the MOTM figures on here.
The TorquayFans Player of the month results are:
1st: Luke Young (27)
2nd: Aaron Downes (24)
3rd: Courtney Cameron (17)
=4th: Angus MacDonald (14)
=4th: Courtney Richards (14)
The six individual winners were Louis Briscoe (Gateshead), Luke Young (Welling), Aaron Downes (Southport), Luke Young (Dartford), Aaron Downes (Aldershot) and Courtney Richards (Lincoln).
Courtney Cameron seems to have benefitted from playing well in the three home games, but away from home Lincoln was his only score (joint third in that game) and he didn't top the polls in any of the six games in August.
Luke Young didn't score anything at Gateshead, but from the 5 games since then finished 1st twice, 2nd twice and 3rd in the other.
Courtney Richards didn't start the season in the first 11, but benefitted from Harding's injury to score very well in the games he did play. With the game today, Richards and Young seem to be the in-form duo and giving us a very solid middle. Compared to the shambles last season, there is a lot to look forward to it seems this year.
