I'm not making any forecasts or comments, lest I be labelled either the village idiot or another doom-monger. Whether your an optimist (if there are any left among you) or a pessimist or a realist, you can do your own forecasting.

But do give us a laugh and let us know what you predict, or what you think.. :)

All right. I'll tell you what I think. But please bear in mind I've not been taking my prescribed medications recently. We're going to win all our remaining games and it's going to be another great escape.

THE GULLS ARE STAYING UP, THE GULLS ARE STAYING UP...!!!

We are the only team in the league who cannot even muster 1 point a game. It's so sad. To think where we were two years ago and how swiftly we have fallen. And all so unnecessary.

As for who will join us, I think it will end up being Northampton still. I would love it to be Exeter but when they beat us that will probably be enough for them.

If you add in the following clubs all on 50 points or less
Wimbledon Pts 49 GD -6 previous 5 : DWDLD, remaining games Southend (A),Newport (H),Plymouth (A),Morecombe (H),Accrington (A)
Hartlepool Pts 49 GD -1 previous 5 : WLLLL, remaining games Chesterfield (H),Burton (A), Morecombe(H),Plymouth (A),Exeter (H)
Accrington Pts 49 GD -3 previous 5: WDDWL, remaining games York (A), Mansfield (H),Southend (A), Oxford (A), Wimbledon (H)
Newport Pts 50 GD -4 previous 5: LWDLD, remaining games Plymouth (H),Wycombe (H),Wimbledon (A),Burton (H),York (A),Rochdale (H)

Then you have eleven teams all with pretty dismal last 5 game records and pretty well showing that the lower end of the table shows that on current form all those teams are where they deserve to be in a relegation fight. Although it is possible that yourselves and Northampton could win all their games I think you can pretty well say that 53 points will be safe and it could end up less. But where are those points going to come from? Newport could well drop out of the possibles tonight as they could well beat Plymouth which would leave 10 clubs going for the 2 spots.
I cannot recall a division where so many teams are so close to the relegation spots with only five games left!!

I just got a funny feeling we will beat rovers. Just because its to late and tufc are typical of that.

The sad thing is the last 5 are very winnable and its just too late and to much to ask for now.

well mr ch if you want to become a torquay management legend you have your work cut out now

That's true. But Friendlygas is right though: there are so many possible permutations of unpredictable results here that to forecast the final league table would be ridiculous. So here goes:

Morecambe will pick up 3 points from their remaining games, Portsmouth 6, Exeter 4, Bristol Rovers 4, Wycombe 3, Northampton 7.
All this is assuming the Gulls win all their remaining games and finish on 51 points, along with Morecambe, Exeter, and Bristol Rovers. Portsmouth will finish on 54 points, and the unlucky teams will be Northampton on 50 and Wycombe on 49.

Just a dream. Not going to happen of course. We will end on less than 40 points (if we're lucky) and will be relegated, along with any one of half a dozen others. The Conference for us next season.. :-/

We'll lose our remaining 5 games all 1-0 and go down with 36 points which will be just above our goal difference of -29 and have a laugh whilst we witness.

I agree that we are likely to lose the last 5 games. If we lose them all 1-0 that might be a record? Something to aim for at least.

We will have to win all five games and still hope for others to slip, face it, dream or no dream our goose is cooked. As to who is coming down with us, looking at form/remaining games, Morecambe are looking most likely, but who knows, think Northampton will escape, Portsmouth as well , anyone of the other teams could fall with us.

Hargreaves thinks we can do it, but I guess he has to say that.

Sorry Chris, I wish I could believe that, but the grim reality is that we are nowhere near good enough to win FIVE games on the trot. We are not good enough to win two games on the trot.

We won two games running in December, when Alan Knill was in charge. Not that we were good enough to do so!

But there's still time to repeat the feat. Not that we're good enough to do so! :)
