With 21 games to go or 63 points to play for, Hargreaves has time on his side. His energy and motivation will no doubt help the players believe in themselves once more. This will Restore confidence and will get the fans behind the team. We can beat the drop, it will be tough but this is Torquay we never do mid table. :scarf:

Yes they can, ok we've played more games and have a poor goal difference, but importantly, we're not cut adrift, there's no guarantees, however what a couple of wins would do , the picture would look very different.

Of course, plenty of games left, reasonable quality in the squad, albeit with the need to find another forward. But either way there is no such thing as a done deal in football. CH needs to get the best out of his players in terms of attitude and find the right shape.

Intensity

Knill proved that you can hang in there without tactics so Hargeaves can also.

Energy can get us over the line so if their input has the desired affect (let's face it they don't have a hard act to follow as far as getting the max out of the players) then we will stay up. There is very little between most of the bottom half of the table in terms of player ability therefore to get that edge that could make all the difference they have to rebuild confidence and get them playing with tempo and intensity. I would have said this about any manager coming in and so because of this I feel we have the best possible blokes in charge to take advantage of this feelgood factor and hit the ground running rather than a has been who decides to take the 'intellectual' approach to management. We needed a Hargreaves or a Martin Allen, a motivator, a young ambitious head or a gnarnled organiser who takes no sh*t. We've got one now so it's the best chance we have. I am the man from Del Monte and I say YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!

We're level on points with safety so yes, I believe they can save us.

CAN they keep us up ? Yes - of course. WILL they keep us up? Ah - that's a different question !! I believe they will. In my opinion, the players we have are better than next-to-bottom in the table and with a bit of passion and motivation (as shown last Saturday) we can start moving in the right direction. I'm much more optimistic about our chances of staying up than I was a week ago.

Every game is important of course, but the game on Saturday and the game home to Northampton are big, big games. We as fans can do our bit by getting behind the team as we did against Morecambe.

Just watched his interview on BBC
What a breath of fresh air, it is going to be so much easier to listen to the post match from Chris.
Think he can do well, sort of bloke who will get players to give extra 10% because he cares and wants it, and with that little extra spirit and effort we will make some luck.
The contrast between the 2 managers could not be greater
Here we go, eyes down for a full house. AFC Wimbledon will not know what has hit them Saturday

As Steve Bruce says "Teams are only as good as their strikers". We have struggled and will contiue to struggle with our current crop.

I'd like to think so. We 'be been in worse positions with 2 games left previously, so it's a long way from a lost cause at the moment.

Can they keep us up? Of course they can.
Will they keep us up? Too close to call in my opinion.
On the positive side - we're not stuck way behind everyone else & only in the bottom two on goal difference. Some good, battling, performances in the last couple of months show the team can play.
On the negative side - the better performances (not all though) included Marquis who's gone back. We REALLY need a striker like him. Not too fussed about the left back area. Hopefully Cruise should recover soon.

Do the positives outweigh the negatives? Who knows...

Momentum is key in football.

New signings, the right ones, could transform our results quite quickly. To start with our Home Record is awful only 2 wins.

Must be a very long time ago we had such a bad Home win rate.

New Managers sometimes have an immediate effect and 3 or 4 wins from the first 6 games could really alter the picture.

I believe the new management team is just what we need and I for one feel confident we will see a very different side in the second half of the season.

Interesting what message Chris has given to the younger players about working hard. Just what I tried to say on another thread about Billy Bodin.Football is a short career make the most of your talents otherwise it is even shorter!!
