Away Days

Which away days do you lot have pencilled in for this season? Which grounds have you not been to before and are most looking forward to and which are you most dreading and why?

I've been to both Morecambe and Northampton so far and I plan to go to just about every game, childcare permitting. I will definitely miss Wimbledon, just don't fancy it, don't want the hassle of getting lost in the London area. Daggers might be an Royal Marines-esque job - negotiate the M25, drop in avoiding gangs of insurgents, watch the game and fall back asap. Roger and out. I will try that put not promising anything.

Pompey and Gargs will be a pain in the ass to get to but i'll do an overnighter as I want to go.

All the rest are pretty much nailed on. I'm obviously looking forward to Chesterfield (2 miles from my house) and Mansfield (8 miles from my house) and also Scunny where I have had many a night out and ended up in strange houses! Scunny is 25 minutes from my mums house as is York so can't wait for those. Burton is 40 minutes from my house too.

Pompey aside, i'm really looking forward to Hartlepool as I used to work up near there although I've never been to the town itself nor the ground so that is the one i'm excited about most.

Dreading the usual suspects, Accrington and Fleetwood but also not looking forward to Newport as I've heard it's grim plus they have an 'element' shall we say.

Hoping for a non league away draw in the FA Cup like Worksop, Matlock, Armthorpe Welfare or other teams of that ilk.

There are a few grounds I still haven't been to even after several years of following Torquay and these include Exeter, Plymouth, Brizzle, Southend, Bury, Oxford and a handful of others so hopefully i'll get to cross those off the list.

I shall be looking to do pretty much all of them I would imagine. All six new teams to our league this season are new grounds for me so looking forward to all of those, yes even Hartlepool! York on a Tuesday night will be a tough ask but its just so bonkers that it becomes a must-do. Fingers crossed for league one away or non-league away in the first round of the cup. Can't beat visiting a new ground!

Man up and get yourself to London mate, take the train to make it easier, stopping at rejection, disappointment, Backstabbing Central and Shattered Dreams parkway

I just can't go to London mate, i'll either be mugged or unappreciated. I can guarantee it.

For me it will be the usual locals - argyle, Exeter and rovers with the added benefit this season of going to two of the closest but newest places for me - Newport and Pompey. Like Andy I have mixed feelings about Newport - I too have heard it is a place you need to watch your back, but with it being so close I won't be able to resist. The atmosphere at Portsmouth is apparently top drawer so that should be a good day out.

Exeter, Plymouth, Bristol Rovers, Newport and Portsmouth are my most likely.

Quite fancied Newport as a new league ground but unfortunately have double booked that weekend. Next one will no doubt be Wycombe, and hoping to go to Bury as like to do at least one northern trip a season. Can't plan too much from December onwards as childcare issues will become a reality for me at some point. Let's just say I am already working to convince my better half that Dagenham is not too far away if I need to return at very short notice!

First away day of the season was Northampton. Looking to do Wycombe, Dagenham, Portsmouth, AFC Wimhledon, maybe Oxford, Southend. Plus maybe one northern trip. Not sure whether I will though.

Did Morecambe and will do Burton in October when I am back in Torquay on holiday. That will probably be the only away days, but I should be able to make 4 home games as well in October and over Christmas when home.

Next one for me is Newport. Planning on going most of them depending on finances.

I am hoping to make Daggers, AFC Wimbledon, Oxford, Pompey and Cheltenham. Maybe more depending on funds.

No mate, no. I work Night shifts, allthough that hasn't stopped me driving to away matchs before I would need to stop over, and back managing an u16 football team(guess I picked the wrong year to give up drinking :) ) I am now committed Sundays from Sept 8th and would not be able to stop over, see.
