Torquay United v Bromley - Tues 28th Feb

Another chance on Tuesday but we have to be light-years better than we have been in the last two.

Can we find the team that played so well vs Barnet?

I've been wondering if we go with Nico Lawrence in central midfield. It seems to be a real problem area for us and if he was in there, I wonder if we would get hold of the ball a lot more, win more aerial battles, and add a bit of movement and intelligence which has been sadly lacking.

Another massive 3 points we need to win.....Please Please Please get the ball down play to the strengths of DDS out wide on the wing, give him the opportunity of beating his man and getting a cross in......and hope somebody can get on the end of it.
As the John Barnes rap said 'There's only one way to beat them...Get round the back !

Lawrence in midfield? have you been smoking something?

Bromley are a tough side but they are beatable. Well they would be if they wernt playing Torquay. Mind you if we turn out with Da Silva and Mensah as wing backs we wont win another game this season.

If you are going to play Da Silva he has to play as a right winger. Playing him as a left sided wing back is just ridiculous. With the return of Evans and Collins we might just have a chance. We simly have to win this one.

We always struggle against Bromley another of those horrible teams in this league, haven't scored against them in our last three home games and a red card in our last two v them. Watch out Lapslie, Marshall etc. If we could reproduce the Barnet performance in every remaining game we would have a chance but this team reminds me of the Owers team that went down, it just has the feel and look of a relegation team, whereas Nicholsons team had some real fight. I dread to think how many players we have used this season, always a recipe for a disastrous season. Every game grows in importance but I really think if we fail to win tomorrow there is no way back from the drop.

I’m not sure it makes any difference who is in midfield seeing as our only tactic is long ball. We bypass the midfield most of time, which is part of the reason we are such a poor side.

Midlandgull, Not your best idea, all season we have suffered a combination of having sub standard players and for some perverse reason playing them out of position and expecting them to shine, it doesn't work, most of our players struggle to play well in their accepted role, besides lawrence is the one positive in probably the least effective defence in the league. he is young and definetely upcoming why would take the risk of ruining his confidence by playing him out of position. Even more worrying can you imagine the results of not having him in the back four.

How many yellows has Lapslie had for dissent this season. Refs will take a certain amount of arguing from players but after a bit, particularly from the same player then the card comes out. It's time the other 10 on the field stepped up and got in his face when he's getting his decisions wrong.

We are far to weak to question the referee....the so called captains 'Sick Note' Hall is missing and Moxey is far from vocal and probably does not want the armband anyway. It boils down to the fact that Lapslie is the only leader with any vocal in him. A soft under belly of a team, and this is one of the reasons we are in the situation we are in sadly.

Asking lapslie not to give the ref verbals is like asking crowe to defend or mcgavin to break into a sprint, or Hall to play two consecutive matches, it aint ever going to happen ,its part of his dna, but I would take him every time over half our team who do not even turn up and try.

Absolutely agree, but the others need to step up so he doesn't have to do it constantly. Last thing we want is to lose him for a game, when he's constantly our best player.

It’s time for the Captain Hall to step up if fit…
What is the injury ? Does anybody know ?
Or is it a secret like Crole?
Unbelievable silence from the treatment room ! 🙄

If James Crole was in Cardiff’s under 21 squad today it doesn’t necessarily mean that his loan is over as some of our previous loanees have played for their parent clubs under 21’s whilst on loan at Plainmoor. It would be nice to be updated of his progress by the media team and management at Plainmoor. If there was a statement on the official site it is strange that 99.99 per cent of us seem to have missed it.
