Well say it as it is try not to hold back lol

But,, agreed the game was seconds old when their no.8, Wright I think, was whinging at the ref. and didn't stop from there on in. Both the Halifax and this game we have failed to get enough threat on the oppositions goal and this is obviously concerning given that we have the toughest run in IMO. But the game was won and Nico (as a manager) and the team deserve immense credit for that and our subsequent league position.

On a side note,

Why does Smith appear to give Moore so much grief?

and

What's the popsides issue with the supervisor steward in the Orange jacket with no. 3 on his back?

Gus and Durrel were really put through the wars yesterday. Both players took a couple of nasty knocks, but kept going. The tiredness was starting to show, but hopefully the win will aid the recovery.
Loved the expressions on the players faces at the end of the game when they came over to the popside . Nicho did some fist pumps and shouted
"come on". It was awesome.

A truly awful game against a nasty, niggling time wasting Southport. However 3 crucial points for United thanks to Ajala and Butler who set up Bliss for the vital goal. Butler did very well to put the ball into the 6 yard box because he must have been tempted to have a shot.

I thought Verma had a shocker and Rees should have played from the start.

I like Courtney Richards but his passing is awful and his clearances from inside the penalty box do not fully clear the danger time after time.

If Angus gets another yellow and a 3 match ban we must get O' Neill Odofin back from on loan because IMHO he is better than Geering.

Huge credit to Kevin Nicholson and the lads for 18 points from the last 24.With 9 games to go and 5 games at home against Eastleigh, Chester, Tranmere Altrincham and Barrow we have a decent chance of staying up but the home games will be the key.

A return by Luke Young could prove to be very important as he has been so badly missed in midfield.

TUFC (0) 0
Southport (2) 2

....... and also a 1 - 0 home win for the mighty Whitby which lifts them one place above the Evostick North relegation places. I hope you forecast their scores more accurately than the Gulls. So it's double squeaky bum time for you, then. Ouch !!

Mr Tomogull: actually we are in the Evostik PREMIER division (Evostik Nnorth is like National League North, if you see what I mean). I was part of the grand crowd of 234.
Incidentally, if it all hangs on the last match of the season, I will go to Guiseley (nearest National league ground to me) and cheer on the United.

Why were we wearing our away shirts when we were at home?

The Ref thought that our home shirts were too similar to both the home and away strip of Southport.
