Stating the obvious but still a long way to go before we win promotion to the Football League. At least we appear to have stopped the rot, despite today's result. But new investment is absolutely needed if we are to achieve further progress.

Once again today's support showed why nicho deserves the managers job again next year. Got the backing of the fans and a half time turn around in a game that realistically meant nothing to the team. Also a special mention to the travelling fans today, once again fantastic (especially with the fancy dress) and has been a pleasure following the team alongside you guys who make supporting the team worthwhile, with the singing and drumming. Keep it up boys, the club owes you big time this season. Better times stein the way

Anyone know why Hurst wasn't in the Guiseley squad? Is he injured or out of favour?

Extraordinary day and game yesterday. From the hail, rain and arctic conditions of the morning and early afternoon, the Yellow Army ended up shielding their eyes from glorious sunshine for the duration.

I can't help but feel that the sun contributed to Moore's poor effort to stop their first. He made no effort to back pedal, and just palmed it weakly on its way. It felt wrong to concede because our American goalkeeper wasn't wearing a baseball cap!

There's little need for an in depth review of the rest of the first half. Suffice to say we were a shambles defensively (Exodus reached a new low), Guiseley were first to everything, and despite some neat play going forward, a smart Harrad volley was as close as we came. It could've be 5 or 6-0 at the break.

Whatever Nicholson said at half time at Gateshead worked a treat, the same applied yesterday. Hopefully he can sort out his pre match team talks in the future! All of the action was again coming towards the Yellow Army, this time it was our turn to look threatening. Racchi replaced the tidy Chaney, and seconds later Bliss powered a header into the top corner.

Verma, Butler and Ajala were growing into the game and putting in some dangerous crosses. When Guiseley could get a tackle in, Exodus finally made himself useful and launched his missile throw ins into the box. Eventually one scramble in the box saw Ajala scrappily force it in. 3-2.

At that stage we had all the momentum and an unlikely win looked on the cards. A few minutes delay for a Guiseley injury killed our flow, though, we were sloppy in possession, Young slipped and their striker had the freedom of our box to restore their two goal cushion.

That wasn't the end of it, as the tireless and highly motivated Harrad fired a powerful half volley into the net after a cross had gone over the heads of Bliss and their defender. Chances fell to Gerring, Racchi and Harrad blasted one straight at the sporting and vertically challenged Drench as we pushed for the equaliser, but in truth, the Yellow Army had already been treated to an entertaining and spirited performance from the team.

It was nice to see Guiseley celebrate and congratulate their fans on survival as news filtered in from the Shay. We similarly recognised the efforts of the board, coaching and playing staff who have worked wonders over the last few months.

I heard that he was missing through injury, Tomo.

After hearing Dave Thomas 's comments on the radio yesterday we got exactly what we deserved and in the process let down Halifax and the National League!

He mentioned that players were arriving to the game from all directions, some coming by minibus and others making their own way to the game. Apparently the CEO and other were sat with the squad during the game? We should have been at least 4 down if not more at half time, absolutely shocking 1st half performance! Somehow we have relegated a decent team and kept up a cheating one.


If you the think that I am being harsh, just ask yourself this question.If it were TUFC that needed a point or a win, would we have approached the game differently?

Answer Yes, of course we would have.

Pretty sure Halifax let themselves down by not winning against a team with nothing to play for!

Had the guisley v Braintree ended in a one goal win for Braintree Halifax would still have gone down on goal difference. You make your own luck in football and cannot expect to rely on other teams results. We didn't let Halifax down they let themselves down.

Guiseley got their 3 points yesterday because we did not turn up in the 1st half.
We did not prepare or conduct ourselves correctly, in order to win that game, totally unprofessional.

Definately a big blot on KN's CV
