Now look.... only a few months on and he seems to be totally expendable!!!??? He would be sorely missed and is someone I rate as one our top 5 most important players - not best players - but important. He isn't soft in the challenge at all!?? He actually gets suck in, gets very aggressive and often fouls to break up the play. He's tenacious, quick, strong, and good going both forwards and backwards.

I don't care if he hasn't been playing well. You take him out the team and put someone like O'Kane there who is lightweight, and no matter Eunan's technical ability when we are defending there will be a hole in the midfield. This hole gets exploited far too easily as we have seen. Nicky always works back and breaks up the play and this is enouh to warrant his play in the team alone. I know we all expect him to be the playmaker we thought he was, but he has another side to his game. He is a good player to have in the engine room with Mansell, and he has a great understanding of how we play. He's been here a long time now and knows the score. Give him a chance guys, if somehow Bucks and him are willing for him to remain at the club then we should be fully behind him.

Definitely a player that sometimes you don't notice until you take him out of the side as someone previously hinted at and I think we're much better off with him than without!

good balanced post that yellowsmiffy.

and of course he was in the (winning) side again yesterday........................

you'd better pop to specsavers then.......... ;-)

as i said funny that he plays in the last 2 games and we win them both, and as other posters have said on another thread, you can also see what he brings to the team when hes in it, and what the team miss when he isnt.
Seems that he may have played his third reasonable game in a year so mustn't grumble, don't think that he is good enough to play in L2, he has no vision, can't think quick enough & sometimes is just not up for it. He is, of course a decent BSP player & no doubt would be approaching "Super" in the Conf. North. He used to be an excellent penalty specialist, but not this season. In the BSP he scored some great goals but alas no joy anymore. Still he will be off in the summer & I wish him well, he was ok for us in the BSP so thats where I would think he will end up, can't see him attracting much interest from league managers. O'Kane will be a great player for United he has far more ability than N.Wroe but will need time, he is still at the improver stage.

Chris, will you be stopping off at any Aldershot games in the not too distant future?

Aldershot?? His similarities with Carayol are increasing by the day. The suggestion was that he wanted to move closer to home too - before ending up somewhere not even remotely near.

Lot easier and quicker to go straight up the M1 than fanny around getting from here to Ooop North :)

Of course it's easier, but it's relative isn't it. It's not even remotely near 'home'.

Yipee at last a rumour,a talking point, things had gone a bit tame on here of late :'(

However i do have one problem with this rumour, thats Aldershot the club it self,i seriuosly doubt there finance's/player budgets going forward are any better that ours.

If Nicky Wroe did go to Aldershot, what sort of fee would tufc achieve?.I would doubt Aldershot could match the 15k the club paid for him(of course i could be wrong)also it would have a similar ring to it,as the Carayol move to Lincoln,Aldershot maybe closer to yorkshire than Torquay, hardly next door though.

On tonights performance(from what I've heard) he's worth a lot more than 15k!

Is he still set to leave? It's gone quiet since he's come back. Lets hope he stays :)

wroe seems to have been rejuvenated if thats the right way to express what i mean ! what do you think this is down to ? could it be that playing alongside oastler his defensive duties are less of a burden and he can express himself going forward more as shown last night .

Or could it be that Buckle was right to drop him as it gave him the kick up the arse he deserved and made him realise that he was not "undroppable". Worked last season for Nico.
