We are not the big boys of this league, we have a great manager with solid experience and good contacts for this level of football. Who are we gonna replace him with anyway? there is no one we can afford that is better suited to this level than GJ. It was only a few months ago people were worried a bigger team would steal GJ from us. Give it a rest let GJ get on with his job and support the team through the rough times. For me we sit where i expected after we won promotion, i thought we would be mid-table bang average in this league for the first season anyway and so far with the help of serious bad luck on injuries that is proving to be the case. I still believe GJ is the man for the job though he can only work with what he has got and hopefully he has been given some resources to bring in some reinforcements.
Great contacts?

We don't.
Too late?

Wonder how he’ll react when the fans start turning on him at games.... that’s only a matter of time... seems like he cannot handle criticism...

Seeing he failed to sign a striker even though he had fund available worries me.... will he struggle to sign players for us going forward who knows......

Ours fans cannot let our passion and love for Gary get in the way of football results on the pitch. He holds responsibility. It seems like some of the fans will happily see us get relegated as long as Gary stays in charge.... lose our next 2 league games and we’re definitely in a relegation battle...
And if we don't?
Bet you didn't mention this after we beat Woking.....

If we do not beat Fylde and Ebbsfleet does he have to go?

Halifax win or lose tbh I couldn’t care about that cup.
N O. What our club is crying out for is stability. We can't keep changing managers every 18 months or so. Injuries to key players, notably Liam Davis, has hit us badly and I'm sure Conor Lemonheigh-Evans is not back to full match fitness yet. Once players start to return from injury, results will pick up. In any case, I don't think we will lose to Fylde and/or Ebbsfleet.

Also, you should care about the cup game on Saturday. The club needs the money.

Also, Football can be cruel as we know but I can't see many so-called fans turning against a manager who restored hope to us at a time when it looked as if we could even be heading out of Nat League South at the wrong end. We will not go down this season and I hope those like you WBW and DawlishMatt have the character to admit you were wrong when we finish the season comfortably in mid-table - maybe the top half.

This thread should be deleted, GJ is the best thing to happen to our club in recent years. If you can’t see that I’m not wasting any time pointing it out.

You're on the Torquay forums now not your premier league forum. GJ has more chance of bringing someone useful in than what ever ex Torquay player turned manager you would have him replaced with next.

Looking back to the team that started last Saturday against Dagenham, there arn't many players missing from the team that started against Stockport back at the end of September, the beginning of a run that saw us win 7 out out of 8 games. The team against Stockport was Covolan, Wynter, Davis, Cameron, Cundy, Whitfield,Vincent, Kalala, Buse, Andrews and Reid. On Saturday the only changes from the Stockport match were no Davis or Wynter, vincent or Buse. Although the loss of both our full backs is huge, just look at the changes to Saturdays squad. We had Hall, Lemonheigh-Evans and Saikou Janneh playing on saturday, 3 players who i think had they been available, would have been playing against Stockport in September.

On Saturday we had a team that i think was better than the team that took us to within 2 points of top spot in the league and Gary Johnson said in his post match interview that the defence played well. So in my opinion, the question has to be asked why couldn't we beat a poor Dagenham side on Saturday. Gary Johnson has to take the blame as he seems unable to motivate the team.

Interesting post Matt but '"Gary Johnson has to take the blame as he seems unable to motivate the team" I like better as " Gary Johnson has to take SOME OF the blame as he SOMETIMES seems unable to motivate the team".

Repeatedly blaming the Players earlier as 'not good enough at this level' is bad form IMO along with rotating Goalies and the Keating / Dickson saga.

I'm sure we can hold mid-table - MMMMmmmmm

For God's sake man - the answer is in your post - a side which has no specialist full backs is not only vulnerable at the back but is also limited in attack. The most important positions in a modern team are a reliable striker and full backs who can get up and down to provide width in attack and yet be agile enough to snuff out the threats from the opposition. In my mind the loss of Davis was particularly damaging. Now please can we stop the vendetta against the manager and concentrate on supporting his efforts?

Modgull, it's not a vendetta against the manager, it's an opinion.

I Believe that Ben Wynter has only been out for the last 3 matches, one of these being the 4-1 victory over woking and the other, Saturdays 0-0 at Dagenham. So during our run of 8 defeats and a draw a win, Wynter has played in 7 of those 8 defeats!!!!!!

It obviously is a vendetta because you continue with your inane rantings.

What a ridiculous message blaming Johnson because we didn't win on Saturday. As has been stated its clear that having no recognised fullbacks is going to blunt the attack as well as llimit the defence.

You fail to mention that we hit the woodwork twice.

Basically your just an attention seeker trying to provoke a reaction.

Brucie, At least I got your attention. What the hell is wrong with you 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠 😠
Why oh why can't some people get real. Gary Johnson is not God, Jesus, the pope so why the hell should I not criticise him when in my opinion he is a large part to play in our 8 defeats in 10 games. You of all people should know that a forum is a place for people to express their opinions and by calling me an attention seeker because my opinion on our manager is different from yours is quite frankly, pathetic.
