Watched Showunmi when he was at Bristol City could be usefull. Just checking the spelling in case Matt reads it. Showunmi lived at the top of our road in Bristol. Oh in a house.

After the false dawns of Damien Mozika and, to a certain extent, Jayden Stockley, I won't get carried away with another long-term target being signed. Much like Labadie last season, it's fair to say he split opinion among the Notts County fans, but it's telling some of them had him in their XI to play at Rotherham tomorrow:

Depite being no means prolific, Showunmi has scored twice in League One since the turn of the year, and certainly has plenty of lower league know-how. Here's hoping he can form a successful partnership with Benyon, with Stockley always an option from the bench.

I was very pleased when I read we had signed him. He has done well at a much higher level, so the sort of presence we need up front. Good signing, in my view.

I was expecting an announcement that Wilkinson had gone back Wednesday morning. Lad clearly had an attitude problem when substituted on Tuesday night, prior to which he was clearly uninterested in playing and contributed about as much effort as the steward in the men's toilet's - what was that all about.

At a time like this you need unity with every player giving 100%. You only needed to see the difference when Stockley came on. We need warriors at a time like this, not spoilt teenagers who think they are better than they really are! If only they put as much effort into their football as they do their tattoos we would turn things around over night.

Probably the striker we needed a month ago really - lets face it he is the forward that we need Benyon to play off. Experience and he has been in Countys first team recently. Was a right hand full when he at Bristol City.
As good as we could possibly have hoped for at this stage really. The folly of Wilkinson and O'Brien has been a massive error.
Lets hope he can do the business tomorrow.

Personally I would play him Benyon and Stockley tomorrow. Its not about being pretty we need to win.

Showunmi, more of a forward than an out and out striker, but, agreed, just what the team has been missing, and hopefully not to late, big, strong, physical presence, some thing the team has lacked all season. O'Brien and Wilkinson, not their fault, both young inexperienced players, and Wilkinson at best is a fairy cake, never going be suited to this level of football.

I think this is may be a case of too little too late. We needed to sign an experienced striker a month ago rather than trying out an endless stream of inexperienced youngsters.

Northampton signed Sinclair, Connell and Marquis. Obviously they're more blessed with funds than we are but players with that sort of experience should have been what we were aiming for.

However whilst it is still mathematically possible we have a chance - he may have a similar impact to Lee Thorpe under Atkins.
