Reading through the BBC Sport article, it would appear Geoff Harrop is keeping tabs on his former charges.
One of ours recently to Villa, one of theirs to us ?

Don't underestimate the Geoff Harrop connection here. In terms of this signing, we owe the bloke a pint.
Matt.

Left winger - big competition for Bodin who will have to raise his game. exciting times when hopefully this is made official.
Wingers last year:
Bodin
Morris
Craig
Stevens
Macklin
Thompson
Potential wingers this:
Bodin
Chappell
Cameron
Craig
Thompson
Sullivan?? (not sure where he plays)
I know which set I prefer!

can't see both Bodin and Craig being branded as wingers for next year by AK

I was listing people that could play on the wing - not suggesting it is the best position for all of them.
I still see Bodin as a winger, he does not get stuck in enough for me to be able to play the Eunan role.

Sounds like the sort of player we should be bringing in - young, pacy and with plenty of potential. Think we need an experienced striker and centre mid though to comlement him and the other youngsters.

If Chappell and Cameron get confirmed, I'm liking the potential make-up of the team. I always think an experienced 'spine' allied to some youth/pace in the wide positions makes for a good mix. Just need experienced CB, CM AND CF now...

Same here, i'm really pleased at the moment although I would like a tall, aerially competent striker to make the best use of corners and set pieces, one of those and a decent established centre half and I don't really care who else comes in as I feel we have the makings of an exciting if not promotion challenging team. Cameron sounds like a very good player for us to have and i'm anticipating watching him if it all comes off.

I think we are quite a way off having a promotion winning team I think if anything we would do amazing to be in contention with the playoffs. We need a ball playing midfielder , big centre half, a big striker and a striker to link play then we have different options up front.
I just want a decent season with plenty of action, we cannot expect to improve that much with zero investment especially when other teams like Fleetwood, Bury, Portsmouth, Chesterfield have all spent quite big.

Which is what I said. We'll hopefully be exciting if nothing else. To consider play offs is mental. My feet are well on the ground.

Not one to get excited certainly by a player I have not seen or heard of. Some people are going mental over this bloke and Chappell - yet neither have actually signed and until they do so nothing is wrapped up.
However Chappell and Cameron (it seems likely) are a cut above the dross that we normally sign. IF both sign then I would go as far as to say the worries over Knills "wait and see" transfer policy will more or less have evaporated.
Whilst we need a couple or three more players it certainly seems that we at least will be playing proper football next year and what a relief that will be after watching Lings rubbish.
I do know that there was more than one league two manager impressed by Chappell so lets hope this isn't premature.

I've been watching some of the Aston Villa reserves games highlights on YouTube, and he certainly held his own. He also tracks back too, which will be a good help as the defence seemed to lack that support last season.
He seems to be a good crosser of the ball, which you would expect playing at that level.
If we get him it would be a great signing in my opinion.
