We are 8 points clear of them and have beaten them AWAY at their place also. We both have had injuries and suspensions but as Rovers have a stronger and larger squad then you would assume they would be better equipped to cope. We have spent next to nothing yet PB has spent lots of money bringing players in. The same set of circumstances apply to both managers, both have joined pre-season, assembled a squad with the resources available to them and dealt with the inevitability of injuries and suspensions. Ling wins hands down and no matter how accomplished PB believes he is as a manager the stats don't lie. He has performed poorly and is being found out. I hold the belief that Torquay actually got to the play offs last season DESPITE Buckle. We had a formidable team spirit and perhaps thats what carried us through. The togetherness, the camaraderie and the trust. Look at Branston now, floundering at Bradford and Rotherham, Robinson, couldn't get a game at Cobblers - thats bad!, Zebs and Bevan not pulling up trees at Rovers, Kee is the only one doing well and there are reasons for that too. We scraped over the line in the end and we all watched week in week out when Bucks played players out of position, he is doing the same again at Bristol but this time his expensively assembled squad are so detached from one another that there is nothing there. No spirit and no fight. The team ethic he built at Torquay with mediocre journeymen and loanees is lacking from the big hitters he signed for big bucks. 8 POINTS behind us. That deserves the sack all things considered.

You're member of the month for November, how long has Christmas been in that month?

That's irrelevant. It's an award in arrears, meaning you were the best member (or "number 1") in November. The number 1 on Christmas day will be Andy, and will duly be rewarded for that by having his name up for the whole of the following month.

I don't want to be No.1 at Christmas. Traditionally every No.1 hit throughout the history of mankind apart from RATM has been pants. I don't want to be pants, i want to be more than that. I Want to have a longevity and a special place in the hearts of Gulls everywhere, i want it all!!!! OK, i'll take Christmas No.1 if nobody else wants it. Tut. ;-)

I really feel for you Rovers fans and i genuinely don't wish you to struggle but seeing the gross incompetence and failure of PB at the Mem , ESPECIALLY after todays defeat at home to Plymouth ( who are shite by the way ) it is the best belated Christmas present ever. You can just picture it, Boxing Day, a packed Memorial Stadium buzzing with the expectation of certain victory against a dire Argyle side, 2-0 up and Bucks is elated, but still arrogant, he thinks the points are in the bag ( along with everybody else in the world ) yet Argyle somehow score 3 an win. You couldn't make it up. What the hell happened?! Sympathies with the Gasheads, is PB doing this on purpose coz being consistently shite with all the players you've got is just not possible.

Hi Torquay Fans,

Gashead here, thought i would join the forum to let you guys know about whats happening up in Bristol, i'm sure you will enjoy this, if i was in your shoes i certainly would. Well today we suffered the most humilating defeat in recent memory, i've been supporting the club for 25 years and the reaction to buckle at full time was like something i've never seen, i wouldn't be surprised if he needed a police escort out of the stadium. He is by far the most clueless, nasty and arrogant manager in the clubs history. I was one of very few that was completly against his appointment back in the summer, mainly due to what i had heard about his personality and his tatical abilty, and imo i thought there were much better avaliable managers out there who we didn't need to pay compo for.

Our pre season was excellent and the season started full of optimism especially after our win on tv against wimbledon, but unfortunatly the wheels came off very quickly, i would say after you beat us at our place. The sqaud he has assembled is dreadful, with nothing but a jobs for the boys theme throughout from the players to his staff, i have been told the players he has signed are on the biggest wages of there lives and the money being dished out wouldn't look out of place at most league 1 clubs. His man manangement is abnormal, he soon had craig stanley on the naughty step, and his disgusting treatment of stuart campbell has rocked the whole fanbase, buckle has certainly done things never seen before at this club.

To sum it up our chairman must act tonight and get rid of him tommorow, because we are heading for the confrence, the problem is progressing in the fa cup and getting villa in the 3rd round has acted as a smokescreen. Not forgeting our chairman backing buckle last week that really has sent a shiver down our spines beacuse our chairman single handly appoited buckle, but will he admit its blown up in his face. If he dosen't then we will have many more months of pain. We have had season tickets and all sorts of objects thrown at buckle, the fans can't believe how this man has come in and destroyed a club already on the edge, he has alienated the supporters and many staff memebers at the club, and the chorus of boos and chants of 'your getting sacked in the morning' and 'we want buckle out' was comming from every side of the ground, compared to only a minority in previous games. There is even talk of a demonstration at the crewe game if hes not gone by then. I think you had a lucky escape, who would have thought how well martin ling has done for you, plus many gasheads used to laugh last season when i said this but rene howe is a quality player, and certainly is looking a great signing for your club.

Time to drown my sorrows on this sad day in our clubs history.

I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the winner had been scored. As Forevertufc said earlier, his position must be untenable now!

Hi Jimmy jj and welcome to the site, hope you along with the rest of your fellow gasheads realise now, that our problem was with Buckle and him only, and as said before they way he has forked things up compelety in a strange way has united us.

Yes i did say earlier chating with Nickgull, i thoguth buckles position at Rovers was now untenable, however thats before i was reminded, that Rovers are paying off i believe Trollope. Penny, still paying the compesation bill to us, and buckle is on a 3 year contract, not sure they can afford to sack him.

And one things for sure the arrogant #### will not do the decent thing and walk away from Rovers.

Cheers for the read JimmyJJ. Sounds like Buckle has got himself into an unwinnable war , all of his own doing, against the Gas faithful. We all know he should be near the top of league 2 with the squad he has assembled there, that is without question so his managerial and tactical ability are proving somewhat inadequate. It is bizarre really as Buckle has done one of the best jobs, if not THE best job in Torquays recent history and his achievements at Plainmoor i will never forget yet its very, very sad that there is so much hatred and ill will against him from some of us Gulls and a growing number of Gasheads. All thats left to say on this really, a sad indictment, its the mark of the man. There was really no need for any of this to happen to Bucks but his disregard for other people, his dishonesty and his MASSIVE FRANK SIDEBOTTOM HEAD has come back to bite him on the Buckle.

Got to feel for the decent fans at Rovers but to the lot that came on here at the start of season, talking about walking this league and how Buckle was god etc. Seeing them at the bottom half, gives me a laugh. Shame we might not be able to see Buckle back at Plainmoor.
