Second inspection at 12pm.

Not ideal for those with a longish journey, but as stated the club need to give this game every chance of going ahead.

But as Austrian Gull has said, those who are travelling far, that needed to set off before the pitch inspection have made their own choices based on whatever information / hunches they have.

Its a pain not knowing, I agree, but it shouldn't be such an inconvenience that you can't do anything else with your day Brucie, even for you (I appreciate you have a longer trip than most).....

I mean, if you're planning to go to the game if it's on, then you cant have anything too pressing to do, as would be the case with most, I'd suggest - but perhaps I'm mistaken in giving people too much credit here.

I'm a Season Ticket holder living in Berkshire. I need to know the decision in the next half-hour. If you announce a pitch inspection for 9am the least one can /should expect, in this day and age of instant communication, is updated news by now.

I suspect there are so many variables o consider. It may be playable now but the forecast may cast doubt. Or it may be the opposite. Bury FC are in town, so I guess they may as well, from clubs point of view, do all they can to get game on. It's frustrating for fans, especially travelling ones but like Andy points out, Bury fans must have known there was a very strong likelihood the game could be postponed, so I suppose they may as well give it every chance to be played, even though that is frustrating for us.

The communications never improve.

Back here at midday then. Desperate for a game, fed up with spending Saturdays indoors.

Understand that has to be done but the statement, in it's nature, also says the game is in doubt. Couple that with the hour or more it takes to release that information means many like myself will have now made the decision not to travel. Pity as I was really looking forward to CH home debut.

People traveling from Bury? Where does that leave them? No prizes for the correct answer.

The weather will be exactly the same in two hours, actually exactly the same all day! Raining and then stop, raining and then stop, raining, sun and then rain. If the referee cannot make a decision that game, then the pitch is not good enough and should be called off.

The only people disadvantaged by a delayed inspection are 'home' fans, that need to travel. If Bury fans (or any away fans) wanted to set off first thing this morning, they did so at their own risk. They know there is huge chance of postponement, so really can't complain too much.

The club have to give the game every chance of going ahead. If the ref said at 9, it's playable now, we'll check again later - then the club will be satisfied (and have no option but to agree!)

I still think with the weather we have coming in this morning, there is only a 20% chance of a game. But whilst there remains a chance, the club is duty bound to do what it can to play. The League require it - and so do we.

Frustrating. I need to leave around 12:45 to get to the game, so I fear I will end up travelling and then find game postponed

Why is the information on twitter and not on the club website - what does it actually say.
My friend is a season ticket holder at both Torquay and Plymouth. When I don't go he travels by public transport.
I have just rang him with the news - he is so pissed off that he is going to the Exeter v Portsmouth game instead!

SECOND INSPECTION AT MIDDAY
REFEREE Dave Phillips has conducted a thorough pitch inspection at Plainmoor this morning ahead of the big match against Bury.
Given the changeable forecast and concern over certain areas of the pitch, a second inspection will be conducted at midday.
We are all monitoring the situation and any change will be published on this website as soon as possible. We apologise for the uncertainty but both clubs agree that the referee has made the right decision to give this game every chance of going ahead.
