The last one of your designs, if it didn't have the hoops on the sleeve, would be ideal, as it is a nod to the 70s kit that is quite fondly remembered.

I think the club are missing a trick by not offering modern interpretations of classic shirts. Other clubs do it.

It depends if you have a manufacturer prepared to offer bespoke designs. The likes of Nike, never would for us and we would be left with designs that big clubs had about 3 or 4 years ago. Look at the mess Bradford are wearing this year.

I really like your designs bleeper, especially the yellow one on your last post with the 2 shades of blue accross the middle in like an m shape, actually looking again if it was altered slightly it could be the club badge, really nice. And your 2 white away shirts with a yellow and blue stripe, would definitely love to see that as an away but not home, a nice modern twist giving a nod to the classics of old.

I actually quite like that one with blue pinstripe hoops accross the middle but maybe too radical as a home shirt, and bearing in mind beer bellied football fans have to wear it, it would definitely make a great training/leisure top though. I always liked the yellow with blue sleeves, yours looks smart, but for me that design is synonymous with 2 awful seasons and our first relegation from the league in the Roberts era.

Can you tell me what you are using, is it a proper expensive photoshop or free software that can be found online?
You are my torquay, my only torquay, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know, just, how much i love you, so don't take my torquay away.

Thanks chunky! Most of the people on the Torquay fans Facebook page are love the yellow fading into blue home shirt, which I must say I love also! Your comment about the hoops are spot on, even Nicho has commented about it would make him look larger haha.

Everything I've used is free and available on T'internet, free 30 day trial of photoshop and if you google SS'09 football kit template it should pop up. Also there is a good tutorial called football kit design for beginners on google which is a massive help. Good luck!

Cheers Bleeper, will give that a try. Yeah, I noticed the fading one was causing a bit of a stir, it is nice, it could be a winner. Dont know about Nico though, he shouldnt be wearing it next season whatever happens, his boots should be well and truly hung up by then.

The yellow fading into blue is definitely the nicest so far. Good work!
Have you sent this to the club Bleeper?
You should follow this up with the shorts and socks. I wonder if you can do a similar design which incorporates white. Perhaps the shorts can fade from the blue into white as it goes into the socks?

I think reflecting the colours of the English Riviera is a unique and important thing for the club to be associated with.

Great credit to the board for starting this initiative. It gets fans involved and talking and generates interest and excitement. It's a good start but now the board need to continue devising constant innovative ideas like this to keep fans close and engaged. Some superb designs too. None of which Chunky will like though I bet! :na:

God help us. Yellow going into blue, this is a throw back to tie (or was it tye) dye shirts. They look as if they have been half dipped in paint. Remember how nice the FC of Manchester shirts looked like. Original colours and design. Don't they make a stand against fashion trends and commercialism by only having one set of colours for the team (except when there is a clash when playing away). Torquay United FC - Yellow shirts, blue shorts. Oil Beefs choice F isn't bad with a collar. I am sceptical about fans making choices like this. Look at the abomination that was chosen in 2012 as Oil Beef points out. Yellow and white stripes and white shorts, absolutely awful. Who the hell voted for that kit. This isn't a minor issue. No problem with ideas being put forward and people designing things and I have to admit some are quite trendy but keep them on the drawing board. Yellow/gold shirts, with collars - blue shorts. Socks blue and yellow. We are talking corporate identity here and we should be known by our traditional colours home - and most definitely away. We shouldn't even have to vote on this issue, we should turn up at Plainmoor knowing what the kit is going to look like. Perhaps people would buy more kit if they knew it would last longer. Incidentally, on the away shirt issue, how many were sold last year and who gets the money. Is it the club or is it someone outside. Guess I'll just keep wearing my bobble hat and scarf.

Will Joma still be producing the kits for next season?

I don't remember the length of the deal they signed.

I like both white 'away' style kits posted above, very much like the one which nods to the 70s kit.

The blue/yellow fade is definitely my favourite of the lot, it's really unique and it's not hideous as many unique kits are. However I think it might fall foul of the fact that most kid manufacturers only make template kits these days unless you're an important team...and even a lot of those teams get templates.

You're probably right they're DingDong, what the club may like may be unrealistic for Joma to manufacture. I hope we go white with the stripe yellow and blue for away, dead smart and I'd certainly get one!
