Re: Media coverage
Argyle will always get more coverage in the media simply because, like stevegull said they are the biggest club in the area in terms of support and history. Even if Exeter got to the championship, i still think the Argyle coverage would be slightly greater.

Re: When do we start to panic?
Fair points everybody. I'm not too clued up regarding the machinations of a football club in situations like this so all your input is invaluable. Cheers. I'm still a BIT worried though!!!

Re: When do we start to panic?
I would have thought that M/L had a few players in mind before he was offered the job as he seems to have his ear to the ground about possible players available anyway even when out of work; however, a week has passed and there is still nothing. No rumours or links or anything. I hope he REALLY did have players in mind and we are about to see some unveiled as Gulls this week or next otherwise i will be a bit worried. I obviously don't want him to be signing naff players just to make the numbers up but we are short of a good few players and if nothing happens this week then he has just over a month to assemble a squad, make them gel together as best he can and get his style of playing across to them in a way they are comfortable and familiar with. In the meantime most other clubs in league 2 are nearly 2 months ahead of us in preparation. That is VERY concerning.

Programme Search
Does anybody know any programme selling websites out there that are particularly good? I am after 2 Torquay away programmes and if any Gulls have them and want to sell them then i would pay a good price. The first is our FA Cup tie away at Harrogate Town in 2005 and the second our first game at the National Hockey stadium v MK dons. I expect anybody who bothers to buy a programme at a football match does so with the intention of hanging on to them but on the off chance that someone does want to sell or have one spare to sell then i would be most grateful for any assistance. Thankyou.

Re: Plainmoor Trip for the first time
Cheers for that Southampton, thats really good of you. I planned to introduce myself at the pub you were all going to prior to the Rotherham away game last season but my mate decided to come with me last minute and he didn't fancy it ( sorry guys no offence!). I do generally go to a lot of games on my own anyway unless i can convince a mate whos not doing owt that it will be a right laugh and a superb day out. Its a bit hard doing that now though after one mate actually made the Accrington away trip with me when we lost 1-0, Ellis got sent off, the game was pants, Accrington was pants and it rained. That'll teach him!!

Re: Plainmoor Trip for the first time
Welcome ROI2Gull. I'm not the best person to ask as i too have never been to Plainmoor for a home game and i have been supporting them for 6 years!! So you are not on your own there. I go to 75% of away games though and am a regular in the singing sections of away ends up and down the country. I'm to get to Plainmoor for my first ever home game vs Macclesfield on 3rd of September and i too would like some advice from the Plainmoor faithful about where is best to stand/sit, where to park and where is best for a drink. I know the popside has some terracing down one side of the ground and is where all the singers go but i'll probably feel intimidated going in there amongst you die hard regulars thinking, 'Who is this bloke, i ain't never seen him in this bit of the ground before'. So i might plump for the seats behind the goal as there always seems to plenty of space when i see highlights of games on telly. Anyway, i think i speak for myself and the OP when i say we would appreciate your advice fellow yellows!! Incidentally i have actually been to Plainmoor on a few occasions whilst down on holiday to visit the club shop but never tied my holidays in with a home game yet. Well at least i've been to Plainmoor more times than many Man U fans have been to Old Trafford! Hey, i've even been to Old Trafford more times than most Man U fans.........once, in the play off final!

Re: Stevens off....NOT CONFIRMED
It matters not , the truth is that Stevens is not good enough to be a league footballer, just like James Blunt isn't good enough to be a singer. They both hang in there and keep on trying but eventually the door will close for good and theres nothing they can do about it. A bit like Cameron as PM. He will eventually fall short after stripping everyone of their dignity and inevitably he will foresake the leadership of the country to someone who is prepared to fail in order to progress. Stevens signing a new contract is regression NOT progresssion.

Re: Stevens off....NOT CONFIRMED
Pace, pace, pace thats all i keep hearing. We all KNOW he has pace, he just doesn't know what to do with a togger at his feet. I long to see him burn off three players then dink inside and unleash an unstoppable drive bent into the bottom corner and him wheel away in celebration ( NOT BECAUSE HE DID IT BY ACCIDENT AND HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO) but because he is used to doing it. That ain't gonna happen. He does not have the foresight, talent or ability to do this on a regular basis ( more than once a season Danny). He has had 4 seasons to show us this but it hasn't materialised. Fair enough, Ling should be looking at the players at the club he doesn't know and he might well be able to improve Danny should he offer him a contract but on the face of it i cannot see it and it would be a huge mistake keeping the lad on.

Re: not bloody goal music again!!
No music when we score please! It is American and it is embarrassing. What next? Cheerleaders dancing in the goal mouth whilst the players get ready to take the kick off after a goal?! I can see it coming.

Re: whos gonna be his first signing?
The thing is there isn't going to be much competition for places as at least 4 or 5 of the new boys will probably go straight into the first 11 meaning we need to sign a good few more than that number to keep things competetive on the bench. That worries me. We don't want a bench just with the likes of Palmer, Yeoman and Halpin on there ( promising youngsters though they are).

Re: whos gonna be his first signing?
Where have all our players gone?!! HA HA. Looking at that list i think Mr Ling should get using his contacts, and pretty sharpish because when most of our confirmed squad is down in black and white in fornt of you, it looks quite worrying.
