Go G.O!!

The 3 'alcohol dependent' folk that I have known in my life did absolutely not have mental health issues. I strongly believe that many factors can push people to alcoholism - but to say that is is caused by underlying mental health issues is, in my opinion, just not true. Obviously some sufferers with mental health illnesses will turn to alcohol but not all do. Everyone who has experience of friends, relatives or colleagues who are 'pissheads' will have their own view which is fine, but you will never convince me that mental health complaints and alcohol dependency go hand in hand.
I have not had a drink for 3 years, nor do I want one but would not last a day without caffeine or my e-cig. Everyone has their own addictions but not all are as a result of mental health problems.

Anyhoo, GO has gone, thank ****. I shall raise a mug of Kenco to that good news.

Fixtures

I'm sure I read somewhere that our fixture list is out tomorrow, but I had a little ferret about just now and couldn't find confirmation of this (shows how far we have fallen :( ). Anyhoo, does anyone know if it is and, if so, is anyone excited about the first match? Who do you want our first home game to be against?

He won't get the sack. If he had a scrap of pride, he'd just go. I don't know how he can go into work knowing how shite he is at his job.

Good work Louis and Ali. Sadly I don't think it will stress our owner too much but nevertheless, great to see it in print

Great post soupdragon - the long one that is, not the 2nd shorter one! Completely agree with everything you have said, with the exception of the Juve bit.

Possible Telegraph Article

Ahhhh Luce, not the most helpful response ever when a proper national newspaper is possibly willing to expose what Dave Thomas should have made public months ago.
Ali, there are too many posts on here for you to trawl through but a good starting point would be a thread entitled 'Two hundred percent - TUFC death on the Riviera' which now is on page 4 I think.
As I am rubbish at providing links and quotey bits, I will have to paraphrase a further post from Plainmoor78 who put it in a nutshell when stating 'Osborne is not here to run a football club. Harrop introduced him to the opportunity to secure a land grab at the club's expense'.
Whilst we are all feeling defeated and, well, totally pissed off at the situation, I'm hoping that some posters who are much more eloquent than myself (step up now rjc!) will be willing to save Ali some serious digging and briefly sum up what has been going on.

Are these latest signings the last roll of the dice for TUFC

What seems slightly ironic to me in the lets-find-out-who-you-are nonsense is that when Mr Sturrock took the trouble to post, certain members (yes, I could have used the term posters) didn't believe it was him. Sigh...

AFC Fylde v Torquay United 18/11/17

These match threads used to be pages long during the match, even when we were on a losing run. It just feels as though the spirit has been sucked out of the Club -does anyone believe that we can get out of this mess? And I don't know what the answer is but I'm pretty sure it's not Mr Owers.

LouLou, I'm sure it must be time for more funds to be sent? Or was it only meant to be a one-off payment?

Chris Todd Q and A

Ahhhh, poor Louis - he gets the chance to lighten the mood on the forum and it's met with a lot of moaning. :na: I'm interested to hear what a former player has to say, given that I'm a nosey cow. What are his highlights during his career, does he regret any football moves, is he all better, what is his favourite moment in football, who is on his speed dial, does he watch Emmerdale or EastEnders and, of course, does he prefer cats or tables?
Go for it LouLou, have a good chat and report back

Torquay v Wrexham Match Day Thread 9/9/17

Yes, a good point. We kept a clean sheet against the 3rd placed team which I certainly didn't expect this morning. I expected a 4-0 humiliation. I know what you're saying WestYorkie, but honestly, did you really think we'd get anything out of this game?
