Not sure if it would work during the game but read the second half of my post and click on the last youtube link. That you could sing along too before the game and its short and sweet.

I always like to hear Robert miles children before the game. Always thought that was our adopted anthem. Great little song for the build up to a game.


Avicii's "you make me" makes me think of Torquay, just listen to the start of the song... I hear it as... we are one, one for sure. All united, we want some more woohoooo you make me! Can anyone else think of a line to go after that? Heres the original.

Now you say that I vaguely remember the gesture he made to the popside and that he was very much disliked. just thought a few maybe interested as there are some good clips of Plainmoor and a cracking over head kick that even Rooney would be proud of. Anyone got any memories of the goals?

For me its more the Premier league as a whole that I dislike and not really the players. I agree that PL players are paid well over the top and that money put into grass roots football would do wonders but to tarnish all of the players the same would be wrong. I think there are a fare few that do a lot of good and are complete opposites to the players you mention. I would thought that a good hand full of players even in leagues one and two couldn't care less about the club, fans etc and are a up there own arse and Torquay have probably had a hand full during the past.

What I dont like is that sponsership has just distroyed top flight football. Look at Serbia and the fine they recieved for "inproper conduct" (No mention of racism), compared to Nicklas Bendtners fine for showing a companies name after scoring. This shows to me how much sponsers have introduced crazy amounts of money to top flight football in general and not just the PL. People talk about salary caps but that would have to happen world wide, what players are going to stay in the PL with a salary cap. The money would just end up in someone elses back pocket.

To awnser your question, it would be fantastic for Torquay and Devon in general to have a PL economy wise, but to have to put up with all the crap that comes with it i.e high ticket prices (a cheap ticket for Arsenal is £62?), all seater staduims, prawn sandwich fans and Sky putting your fixture list together. So at present, I would say no.

Lets hope theres a mass brawl at St james park this weekend with a few players from each side, getting a few red cards.

To the "casual" fan I would say bring what ever yellow pages, balloons etc you can and make as much noise as possible!! Maybe be should have a shout out on the main board for any of the above to be brought along to the game?

A group has been set up Parry to improve the atmosphere. Their first game was Dagenham at home and I've got to say it looked good. There has been a bit of money put in the pot, to order a large number of flags. So there are ideas for the city game. Maybe Walshy will be on to give you an update, Heres their website.

I was just about to suggest that! Some great clips from their video, just to remind everyone.

Fair play, probably better than doing it off football manager etc. He doesnt look to bad but we will have to see how he fits in.

For example, I was watching some terrible Spainish team play Barcelona in La Liga the other day. Back to Torquay though and it would be nice for a better atmosphere and I wish you every success; no matter how hard it will ultimately be. Just make sure you don't alienate those 'old boys' that have followed our club for many years. They are the lifeblood of our club.

It's not about filling the staduim but using the fans that you've already got. In the spanish game you mention, I'm sure it wasn't a full ground but you can pretty much garentee that there were a group of supporters that stood for the whole game. who gave it 110% for 90 minutes and had some sort of visual display for when the players came out and during the game. Yes some English clubs do the same but its no way near the standard that you will see in Spain, Italy, Germany etc. Im not saying that English clubs will ever be on par with other european clubs but if we can all convert are passion for the club into singing and visual displays. It will not only look good but people might enjoy it whilst joining in and it might even get results on the pitch!

To be fair lads he has got a point. I'm all for going off topic at times but some of the stuff on threads these days is a bit ott and should probably be not on the main board.
