Torquay United v Hartlepool United 31/8/19
Not sure why so many people seem to want Hall moved back to centre half? Has he ever played there before? What makes people think that playing him out of position would be an improvement on Niate (who has been better than Cameron in the last few games)?
If you need to make room for CLE in midfield then, for me, you're better off just dropping Hall to the bench.

Bolton and Bury
Wouldn't help in the slightest I'm afraid. The problem in the lower leagues isn't a lack of money, it's the fact that too much of what they have is spent on players wages. Give them more money and they will just spend more.wodger of awabia wrote: ↑29 Aug 2019, 16:48 If all of the 92 league and prem. clubs paid 1% of their gate money into a central fund, and then split the fund 92 ways at the end of the season, it might help. Man.City, United, Liverpool etc. would hardly notice the difference.

MOTM - Dover
Yeah this is confirmed by a Dover fan on the 1FF forum.

"Re Dover v Torquay Spoke with Mike , chief security Office officially 69 went through the away gate , but as the game was desegregated about 20 min before KO some TUFC fans entered
through the main entrance,as Gill in the shop said a number came into the shop before KO
anyone arriving after HT would have got in for free, I reckon there were nearer 100 there"

Pay the players less. It really is that simple.
Unfortunately unless every club does it this would mean those that do being left behind on the pitch, and this will never happen. So we get the ever increasing arms race of players wages that we see today.
This is why I chuckle when people say that if the Premier League sent more money down the pyramid it would help smaller clubs survive. No it wouldn't because any extra money would just go to higher and higher player wages.
Until clubs are forced to live within their means by some kind of FFP or salary cap this will never be resolved.

Solihull Moors Away Tuesday
They are a very big side and play direct, aggressive football. Think this is the sort of game where Niate should shine.JSP wrote: ↑04 Aug 2019, 22:05 Expect a big performance in this one , need a good start against a team who are one of the favourites this year , the first half was not good enough on Saturday and will get punished if we repeat that ,with blissett and McCallum up front we can’t afford to make mistakes at the back. Jake Andrews does not suit the right wing and expect Opi to start in this one. For me Niate is too inconsistent and not sure if he can take the step up so could we think about starting Joe Lewis?. We must trust in GJ and expect improvement from Saturday .

2019/2020 Kits
Judging by the number seen at the game yesterday the new kits have sold well, with the blue shirt proving especially popular. ![Great :-D](./images/smilies/great.gif)

Not sure I understand your point? Other clubs are racking up huge losses so it's ok? Just a quick look at one of the clubs you've mentioned should surely give you pause for thought - Bury may very well cease to exist in the next couple of weeks. No doubt some of their fans were saying the same thing last season, "we're playing great football so let's forget about the huge debts we are accumulating and enjoy ourselves".grockle wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 18:21 Other clubs in this Division are making even larger losses. Chesterfield have just had a "loan" of £2 million written off by their owner, but they still owe him nearly £10 million. We have all read about financial problems at Gateshead, Ebbsfleet, Notts County, Yeovil in the past 12 months. Look at the problems in the Fl as well, Bury, Bolton, Macclesfield, etc., Coventry not in Coventry, and it puts things in perspective. If Mr. Osborne did decide enough is enough, and pulled out we may find ourselves in a similar position. Until then, let us enjoy the most exciting football I have seen at Plainmoor in decades.![]()

As Scott says, we can enjoy the winning football whilst still being concerned about the off field stuff. It's not an either/or situation.

This is the important part of your post and frankly it bloody terrifies me!dawlishmatt wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 17:11 We know that up until June 2018 Mr Osborne had pumped around 1.5 million pounds into the club and early indications are that the accounts for the year ending 30th June 2019 will show a similar loss.

The new season ahead
Stockport are remaining part time so I think they will fall short of competing for the play-offs. I'd expect Hartlepool to be up there this year though as they seem to have put their off field issues behind them.
Fylde seem to be the clear favourites (certainly not Notts, the bookies had them as favourites last year and look what happened!) and for me Halifax are almost a certainty to be relegated.
Champions: Fylde
Play-Offs: Chesterfield, Wrexham, Harrogate, Solihull, Hartlepool, Torquay
Relegated: Woking, Aldershot, Sutton, Halifax

New Signings?
Johnson made a habit last season of not announcing signings early (often not until the day of the game) in order to surprise the opposition manager. These players were often training with us for the week before the announcement. Wouldn't be surprised if the 3 players are all signed and sealed just not made public until closer to Saturday.
And I'd agree with RIchinns regarding CLE, we have replaced him with Little so can't see him coming back here at the moment.

New physio is Kai Hepworth who worked with Johnson at Cheltenham. Confirmed in the final paragraph of this article:

Tiverton v TUFC PSF 20/07
I guess the Swansea under 23's games may have been arranged with an eye on getting a couple of their youngsters in on loan? This is what happened in previous years with players signed from Bristol City last year (Andrews and Edwards) and West Brom (in 2016 - Joe Ward and Chay Scrivens) after pre-season games against their youth teams.forevertufc wrote: ↑21 Jul 2019, 16:18 Choose not to go to this game, having been to the Buckland friendly, had a feeling this game would be centred more around the youngsters, and might be more of a non-event, probably wont go to the Swansea game either, we're likely to see any loan signings in by the Exeter game so this one will be my next visit.
I'm pretty sure the college lads, are studying and training at Torquay academy rather than south Devon college, I was quite impressed when a few of them came on against Buckland, not only because they looked talented young players, but in main, it was their confidence out on the pitch that shone for me, they look as if they're in good hands.
Finally not to worried about MacDonald either, after Bass was injured and then recalled early doors last season, MacDonald was an ever present, as said above, suggests he's a fit healthy young man, but if the worst was to happen, if there is not any suitable fit cover, GJ would go into the loan market.
As for the youngsters, haven't we moved on from the relationship with Torquay Academy to a similar deal with SDC? Chris Todd often tweets his approval of his players getting the chance to train or play with our pros and he works at SDC I believe?
