Morning all, now, dont get me wrong im not a big fan of SE, but in his defence, he now has nothing to do with any monies at the club (thank christ), and has a srict budget, set out by the owners, and their investors, we have set out on "project promotion" with one goal to achieve, hence this magnificent cup run is all bonus, nearly £500,000 so far, more than enough to run the club for the next year, dont forget we had an estimated investment of £1million, of which just under half has been spent,as with all newspapers, they tend to hype up and throw figures in the air, our wage bill is nothing like what has been banded around, and nowhere near, lutons, wrexham or grimsby, anyway have a good day and loking forward to saturday. MidDevon wrote:At this stage of the FA CUP, the away team have to claim how many tickets they require. Torquay United were obliged to give Crawley up to 15% of the ground capacity, that is 825 tickets. The away team can obviously negotiate more than that.

Had Crawley only requested say 500 tickets, they would have had no right to ask for more tickets, as the request has to be made within 2 days of the draw.

Crawley have been very well treated by the club with a few hunded additional tickets given, for the prize on offer and the potential money, I, on reflection, would have just given them the bare 825 tickets required.

Having said that there is absolutely no may 1000 Crawley fans can even get close to being heard on Saturday
Mid Devon, I have to disagree, our tickets sold out within 2 hours, we could easily have sold another 500 tickets on the day, if Torquay feel they couldnt give us anymore tickets then fine, but what i cant understand is there unwillingness to then make the match all-ticket for all fans, i just feel they are asking for problems, our Police Liason Officer has been in contact, amid fears of 500 crawley fans travelling without tickets, and the club dont seem to care, im guessing they are quite happy to "cash in" on the day ensuring a full house, with hundreds of crawley fans in the home sections :O

Week left to go, let's hope Benyon doesn't get injured as I'm looking forward to him up against the ageing fatboy Pablo Mills, as much pace as a slug, & the clumsy McFadzean McRetard.

Who does everybody want in the 5th round anyway? I'd definitely settle for a top half Premiership club away after we've easily disposed of Gatwick, although a winnable tie at home to a Championship club also catches the eye.

Still at least it will be like a home game for GATWICK FC!!!

Therefore we will be meeting at Boots and Laces from 1pm for some cheery banter with the travelling Creepy Crawlies and to raise the roof ready for our potential entry into round 5 draw.

Please feel free to come and join us for a few jars of cider and some singing to warm up those vocal chords for 3pm.

Look forward to seeing most of you there.

SG - Not sure we can pull a march off from Boots to the Popside lol

Matt.
 just a 1000 or so, looks like we will have to go in 2 pubs!!, seems the general concensus is making a weekend of it, the grand are doing rooms for £29 for a twin room and train fairs are reasonble at about £35 return, so by sunday there could be a few very sore heads in torquay, looking forward to another visit to torquay!

Bless you for your interest Mr Inns. Of course I realise that fans of your club have no need to read the Conference forum, until next season that is, but if you had a look you would see my explanation of the club's financial position, which I shall repeat briefly for your benefit.

The club is blessed with investment from our new owner, Sheikh Ibn Al Promotion. If we need any increase in funds, he just increases the quota of barrels being filled at his oilfields. If he ever becomes disinterested he has several football mad heirs who would contine to be interested and would takeover his position.

So you see you really shouldn't be concerned about us. We certainly look forward to our visit to you in the Cup as it is unlikely we will be playing you next season when we are in the Football League because your selling of Crawley reject Benyon and a few others will lead to a downturn in your form and your defeat by us will cause such turmoil at your club that we will pass you on our way up while you enjoy a return to the Conference.

I hope this brief explanation clarifies the situation and reassures you that there really is no cause for concern.

Bless you for your interest.

BTW can you get someone at your club to let us know as soon as possible whether the date will be moved to accomodate tv coverage.

Thank you in advance, and please enjoy a good season until we spoil things for you

Here is another one:

Of course they are worried. We're better than them, and our away form is good. Not sure what sort of season they are having, but I genuinely feel they are there for the taking.

And it goes on!:

We've beaten Swindon away Derby at home. Do you think that little old Torquay hold any fear for us?

The dillusions of granduar is amazing!
ahh Inns you seem to have lost your sense of humour!! the quotes you have posted are a tad bit unfair, we have also warned our "pikeys" of over confidence, but you seemed to omit them from your post!, anyway im here in peace from crawley, and really looking forward to our game, let the Banter commense!
