Re: Retain or Release?

I think Phil is on about the delay in signing contracts, which I seem to recall costing us Jo, rather than his lack of quality as a player

Re: University

Exeter University
Accountancy
Passed with flying colours (it's a secret man!)

Knew after 2 days I wouldn't use my accountancy 'skillz' and tried to switch to a law course, but failed. Have studied law since though.

Re: Accomodation.....Wimbledon away

There is a big Travelodge in the middle of Kingston, just down the hill from Kingsmeadow. Don't bother staying in Wimbledon, especially since trains aren't that plentiful (every 30 mins) from Norbiton (closest station) to Wimbledon.

You can get a couple of different buses from Kingston to Heathrow as well (111, 285) and they are both 24 hour services - the Travelodge is right around the corner from the bus station (as well as Kingston BR)

Re: Bristow's Bench safety

I don't want to bash the club too hard on this matter, but I made people aware as soon as the original plans went up that they were being remiss in not doing something about handrails on the Bench. My dad (84 and confidence in going down stairs rocked by a fall that led to hip surgery) wanted to go back as an STH this season but wouldn't because of his concerns about the new stand and I took the time to contact the club to make those concerns. And that was as far back as the plans being made public so you can judge how much time they had to react.

Reading the updates since it was opened, I am relieved he didn't spend his money on one despite the entertainment he is missing.

Given the demographics of our fans, I think it is downright stupid that this important matter was completely ignored. There are enough sensible people within the club who should have realised this was going to need dealing with.

Re: A JPT miracle...

Not sure they were in the Football League when the contracts were signed - looks like their own design, which is of course better than the generic template we are left tp suffer with.

A JPT miracle...

Torquay have a bye into the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy!

Apologies for using another club's link, but I don't see it on our (somewhat improving) official site.

Those that can see it are just viewing older cached versions, and for those that are, I can tell you that Paul Buckle has now departed 8-]
No doubt we'll go down the cheap route to replace him, probably some clown like Martin Ling :na:

Re: Where has the OS gone??

Could be something to do with the changes FLTV are making to their sites - some have gone through to a new style, some are old like ours. Maybe that, but weird some can get the site and some not...you lucky ones will have to let the rest of us know if a centre-back ever gets signed!

Thought I was in the Twilight Zone for a minute - maybe others have a cached copy. Definitely down for me on Firefox, Chrome and IE.

Re: Ellis Replacement Soon..

Wonder if we were in for Pim Balkestein as well?? He signed for AFC Wimbledon this morning.

Saw him play for Brentford in a PSF last week (one of few first teamers in a team of trialists and youngsters) and wondered if he might be leaving the Bees. Commanding player and left-sided as well. Good signing for AFCW in my eyes, and they might be an improver this season.

Re: Quality Photos!

Nice one Chris, can always rely on you.

For some reason didn't recognise Yeoman (looks a lot older after that course) and Bodin's hairstyle put me off, although should have realised they were the two squad members I hadn't included in my own guesswork effort!!

No real surprise that the CB hasn't turned up yet - who'd fancy having their first four days of training being caked in mud?

Thought for a minute we had a new player down but then realised it was Nathan Craig covered in a few layers of Deb'nshire dirt!

Re: Quality Photos!

Couple of faces I don't recognise in the team shot as well - who is going to do an L-R for the front and back rows (apart from the instructors of course) while I am asleep??

Thanks in advance.
