I believe he would have been more than happy to continue helping the club if they had actually bothered to pay his wages.

Shooting yourself in the foot comes to mind.

John Milton is no longer at the club, he is busy helping Buckle assemble Rover's squad I'm afraid.

It would appear that the club did not make the effort to keep him, a move that I have no doubt will have repercussions in the future

What does it look like now?
Up Sh*t Creek without a paddle and the problem is Hayman will be deciding if there is any chance of us getting a paddle.

May as well bring back Eddie May

Makes you wonder just who drew up the contract and more to the point who actually agreed it.

He was indeed down at Torquay however I think you will find if Buckle had concluded the deal he would actually have ended up in Bristol. The eyes have been off the ball for quite a while.

Re: Buckle

John Milton never has got the credit he deserves. He is Buckle's mentor, he has a very strong character and tells people to their face when he has a problem with them. Buckle uses him as a sounding board and as has been pointed out he is a top scout who has brought some excellent players to the club. Buckle has now gone on holiday and left Milton to get on with sorting out Rovers, that's how much he trusts him.

He also has MASSIVE respect amongst the playing staff.

He will be a massive loss to the club.

Richinns - What I am being told is from the same source as has been feeding me info for months. He has NEVER let me down and I have no doubt he is spot on now.

Some of the things that I have been aware of would be enough to make any TUFC distraught.

Well and truly looking to cut back I'm afraid. Also got the potential saving of Veysey and Milton's wage as well and don't forget the Chief Exec's twelve month notice period is coming to an end.

Re: Buckle

regiment wrote:Have not read all your comments yet, will read back through, but two quick points from me in addition to my earlier posts :-

1. I would assume the club in someway "have" to advertise the vacancy as in any company, but does not mean the post is not already filled.

2. Bucks first job would be to get bristol promoted, and my guess is their current squad is better equipped than ours, with the addition of 1 or 2 that any new manager would want to bring in. I genuinely don't see a mass exit from our players, but branno and Stanley are free agents, so we could well miss out on them, which would be a huge shame. One exception may be his mate zebba, if we get a decent offer, the club might let him go, and that would not be good as we are already short of attacking options.

Finally, I have not real preference if the two front runners are hargreaves and trollope as suggested, both have pros and cons, but would be VERY happy if we took them BOTH.
Finances dictate that won't be happening, it will have to be a player coach

I reckon Branno will end up there, he might come back to buy Zebs at some point but I can't see Ellis going there in a month of sundays.

O'Kane I doubt they could afford, doubt they would want Kee.

Stanley seems to have a genuine affection for us and I hope he gets an offer to come here. Robinson I expect to end up somewhere like Burton.
Peterborough, Derby County and Doncaster Rovers are all interested in him

Only one team deserved that today and sadly they didn't play in Yellow.

Did any player out there perform to their ability today?
