Nathan Blissett MOM today.. Gone tomorrow?

Very strange timing. If he had been knocking in goals for fun I would have been more concerned but he hasn't. Suspect he will be there at FGR

No excuse at all for not getting there... at least where the weather is concerned. Warm, dry and sunny spells.

Gaming International have taken our club hostage

It certainly is worth looking at.... there seems to be some substance to the Chinese investors with a limited company being formed in October and the representative being named. If this is all as it appears then there are some further question marks over Dave Phillips handling of the situation. If its not as it seems, then why would you bother working up such a hoax.
Another question for Dave Thomas to raise, if of course he is a real journalist

Gaming International have taken our club hostage

Hmm oh well, we are where we are. Now what ?

Just read the official statement. Its the wording that a new crooked owner wishing to appease the fans would say. It is also the wording that a genuine new concern would say. You can't read anything in to it and the only way that we will know what their true intentions are will be by subsequent actions.

No doubt some will say we should be protesting at the boxing day match. Unless something surprisingly bad comes out in the next few days count me out as despite ALL my concerns which are still there I will give them some time to prove by their actions that they have the long term interest of the club at heart. Some things like getting a proper structure in place makes a lot of sense and nobody should argue at that. To my mind the more people that get to the FGR game the better as this will show that the clubs potential is there.

Having said that my gut feeling is that the best case scenario is that we will stabilise into a safe NFL team, will probably move in 5 or 6 years time to a new stadium and they will get their money back through developing Plainmoor. I think we could be going through a similar period of uncertainty some way down the line when they have achieved their aims ( not all of which are so bad) and they wish to offload the club. Perhaps the TUST will be in a better position then to take over ?

Right.... so its happened and although I don't like it there is nothing I can do about it. What I will say is that I will judge GI on their actions rather than any words and it will be "interesting " to see what does or does not happen in the next month. I will not be passing comment on them til I see but if Mr Phillips were to be walking past I would certainly be questioning his intentions over the last month. Overall though I clearly agree it doesn't look good.
I do wonder though what role Masters has to play here or is he just protecting the money he put in. At least he has a modicum of experience of running a football club.

Can we raise £400,000. Yes or No?

Already signed up and paid for my pre issue shares. Took some flack from certain people over my unwillingness to commit to Matts idea but as said you now have the opportunity to put your money where your mouth is.

Can we raise £400,000. Yes or No?

Interesting how actions can be so misinterpreted. Its almost an art form it appears.

All I am doing is waiting and seeing what happens in the next 10 days by which time it should be a lot clearer what is or what is not happening. At some time in the near future it is quite likely that a real plea for money ( by Matts own admission he believes that his has no chance of getting to this figure) will be made with a clear agenda over its use and at that stage then we will see who will support it. The way things are going it may well be through the TUST as they are getting to be the only group left with any structure in place.. and yes I am a member.

I have to admit I don't know Matt by name or Tommy )or many of the other people on this forum) although I may well have seen them at matches both home or away but it does appear some do like hurling words around the place. Perhaps as they grow older they may realise that there are more constructive ways of getting things done.

Can we raise £400,000. Yes or No?

Like Taxilady and Portugull I'm going see what does or doesn't happen re any buyers. If it all starts falling through which is quite likely in my opinion then crowdfunding may well be the only realistic way of getting money in place quickly to pay off GI and then have time to put together a proper plan for the future. Its a wait and see moment. Having said that, we cannot wait for too long.

Can we raise £400,000. Yes or No?

Yes, would put in £400 if push came to shove but if it was a share issue where you get a return for your money, possibly a valueless return in real terms , but at least a share certificate and a recognised stake in the club then I would be willing to put in much more. Just a donation into a possibly bottomless pit is less attractive.
I think the original figure of £400,000 is closer. £125K for GI , £120 K to the directors unless they remain on board and £180K to cover the projected loss for the season. The trouble is that produces nothing to invest on players.

TUST Not An Option

Am I also surprised that the six figure loan is an "interest bearing loan". They really had nothing to lose with this arrangement and everything to gain and there appears to be at best some naivety with accepting this arrangement or more likely desperation.

I understand where the views on the ability of TUST to finance the necessary sums have come from but I also know of a few, and yes it is only a few, people who are willing to put in five figure sums to get things going. How many more there may or may not be of course is the question and I cannot answer that. The comment about the waste of £2000 on the independent review isn't really fair as how could any trust go out to say "give us your money to save the club" if they didn't know the true financial state of affairs.

We do seem to be still sinking. Is the Pete Masters leaky lifeboat such a bad option ? It does look like the presidential elections part 2 though.

Dave Thomas on the H E podcast says that Moore has been released from his contract at Fleetwood so that club will not be standing in the way of a possible signing.
