Best to get rid of him then, before he throws another wobbly & wants to head north. He will most likely be rubbish again by then in any case.Yellow4life wrote:Looks like he's staying at least until the end of the season now!According to OS- unless a good offer comes in!
He's been back to best since he lost captaincy.

Re: Bid for Benyon rejected!
The problem I.M.O. is that Billy is not "ready to come in" yet, therefore we can't let Benyon go just now.NickGull wrote:I believe that was the plan all along, wodger. I don't think the club expected Benners to be here now, so signed Kee as a replacement ready to come in.

No point in selling a 15+ goal a season striker, like Benyon, as we would more than likely have to spend all of the money on a replacement who would require big wages. Much better to offer Benyon an improved contract, say 3 years & more dosh.
The plan should be to develop Billy Kee, hope that Benyon gets even better, & then sell him for really big bucks, with Billy ( or A.N. Other) ready to step in to fill the gap.

Re: Rovers in for Buckle?
Buckle would be daft to go to any L1, or L2 club his record (especially if we reach the play offs) is outstanding, & he should be offered a championship job, sooner or later. Remember Frank O'Farrell left TQY for Leicester, & other managers have "jumped " a couple of divisions at a time.

Can't see it being on, I don't use a piece of seaweed to forecast the weather, but rely on the hand brake cable on my Alfa. It has been frozen on for the last few nights so obviously the ground is still frozen solid & will take a few days to thaw.

No problem !
I can't believe that Wayne will be able to hold out against eleven, he's no good in goal in any case. :ball1: :ball1:

Re: Wycombe Wanderers vs Torquay United
Yes, we have to take the money because he is unlikely to sign another contract, & frankly deserves his chance with a bigger club, I don't think he will consider Southend or D & R to be bigger than Torquay but of course he could be tempted with loads of dosh!happytorq wrote:
The worry is that we will have to pay six figures to get an adequate replacement, who will no doubt be on very decent wages.
Billy is not ready yet to take over from E.B. so we will have to get in another loan striker.

Re: Bid for Benyon rejected!
Where are we going to get another striker who will score 15 + goals a season?
How much money would we have to pay in transfer fees & wages to get an adequate replacement for E.B.?
I am not surprised that Buckle is not in a hurry to sell Benyon. It's too early yet to put Billy in that spot, & P.B. seems to favour Zeb playing out wide.

Sorry should have been "have" & not "has". Poor grammar is something up with which I will not put. :P :Oops:wodger of awabia wrote:Fleetwood.......too risky!........ the team has a lot of ex.league players in it, & they are proving to be a very good BSP team. are you having a laugh or have you been drinking?
No, & no,
Yesterday at Oxford, it appears that he played his second reasonable game in a row after 12 months of being poor. No danger of him playing well again on saturday then! Thank goodness we have now got some decent young kids that will, I.M.O. prove to be "up for it" & far better than Nicky Wroe. We will be able to get shot of him in the summer, because as you know he wan't to go back up north.
if you seriously think that t.t is better than nicky wroe then you have some serious football issues mate.funny that hes played in the last two games and we have won them both. strange that.
as for "decent young kids" we will have to wait and see - as posters have said on the match thread that o'kane didnt exactly cover himself in glory last night.
and, as other posters have alluded to, nicky wroe has stepped up and they (not me) have noticed that perhaps he is missed by the team for what he brings to it, and you notice it when hes not in the team.
cheers
Didn't say that T.T. was better than N.Wroe did I? I said that he has "far more class". I.M.O. Tyrone never reached an acceptable level at Brainmore, but was able to play very well in spurts, he then faded out of the game, when on form his vision was great. He must have frustrated P.B. no end as he was never able to get the best out of the player. It would not have suprised me if T.T. hadn't played a blinder against Tqy & proved to be the match winner. Seems that Mansfield are also not able to get the lazy little s#d to play up to his ability.

Re: Nicky Wroe on his way!??
Seems that he may have played his third reasonable game in a year so mustn't grumble, don't think that he is good enough to play in L2, he has no vision, can't think quick enough & sometimes is just not up for it. He is, of course a decent BSP player & no doubt would be approaching "Super" in the Conf. North. He used to be an excellent penalty specialist, but not this season. In the BSP he scored some great goals but alas no joy anymore. Still he will be off in the summer & I wish him well, he was ok for us in the BSP so thats where I would think he will end up, can't see him attracting much interest from league managers. O'Kane will be a great player for United he has far more ability than N.Wroe but will need time, he is still at the improver stage.SuperNickyWroe wrote:
