Re: Steve Cotterill Sacked by Forest
I wouldn't have too much sympathy for Cotterill. He walked out on Stoke to take up a position with Sunderland. When it suits managers, they'll forget the contracts they've signed, so it works both ways.
Also, if I'd spent millions on a club, I would want to choose the manager.

Absolutely not!! It's the kind of thing you do with nursery kids. Football doesn't need tacky gimmicks like that.united09 wrote:What does everyone think, about counting down the seconds before kick off at the Euros?

Re: If Pompey go out of business.......
I'm not sure that would work. If Coventry are reprieved and three teams get promoted, then the Championship would have one too many teams.forevertufc wrote:Before the season is not officaly over so it would save Coventry, after the season is over so it would save who ever finish's 4th bottom in league 1.
As Portsmouth had been relegated, I think that the changes to relegation numbers would happen in League 1, despite what the rules say.

Re: Going into the final 3 games – the fight for promotion
What could happen ...
Torquay win their next two games ...
Hereford beat Northampton, and hopefully beat Crawley .....
Crawley beat Dagenham, and as said already, lose to Hereford ....
And Barnet lose to Southend (Friday) and draw at home to Wimbledon ....
Then both Torquay and Hereford would only need to draw in the last game. (Unless Barnet win by something like 10 goals in their game). We could then play out a very tame 0-0 and both be happy.
It could happen ......
It's raining here and I've nothing better to do.

Maybe the post on 'Promotion T-shirts' could be considered as implying we wre already up.forevertufc wrote:Strange indeed, Gazza, out of the Torquay fan's I have spoken, I have not heard a single fan say, we are already up, and where is thier a single post on here claiming we are already up, I can't see one.
However not worth getting them in a twist over to be honest.

Re: End of season celebration party!
Have you considered that we might be playing in a play-off game that night? Hopefully play-offs won't be necessary, but it was just a thought.
I'm not sure if it's been decided yetwhether it will be League 1 or 2 game, but Sky are planning to show a play-off game that night.

The key word in the 'law' is 'BOTH'.GulldenBoy wrote: You are right, It has to be 2 opposing players (which may or may not include the goalkeeper)
As Eunan was not nearer to his opponents' goal line than the ball (when passed), then it wasn't 'both'. So he was onside.

Take a £20 pound note, tear it into small pieces, and flush it down the toilet.
It saves the anticipation and the subsequent grief and disappointment.

I thought Gerrard was found 'Not Guilty', as the jury (Liverpool supporters no doubt) accepted that it was self-defence. Even though the other guy didn't actually throw any punches, Gerrard thought he was going to be hit, so got his 'self-defence' in first!Southampton Gull wrote:The same Gerrard who viciously punched a man in the face at a nightclub and then denied it before being found guilty?

You think it's acceptable to use the term 'faggot' (in the thread about the Hotel TV programme), so I don't understand what your point is?

Anyone who still thinks Howe shouldn't have been sent off should look at this picture.

Doesn't look 'accidental' to me.
And if that had happened the other way round in front of the Pop .... and no red?

Mid-table Torquay
I noticed the following stats for us:
Points won against top half teams 5 from 27 (P9 W0 D5 L4 F12 A22)
Points won against bottom half teams 26 from 33 (P11 W8 D2 L1 F20 A4)
If anything suggests we're destined for mid-table this season, it's those stats. I'm quite surprised to find that we haven't beaten anyone in the top half yet, considering the general feeling is that we're playing quite well now. Maybe the opposition in recent games just hasn't been very good.
At least it should mean we get a result on Saturday at Accrington!
