Takeover 50/50 ?

RoadGull wrote: I hate to say it but quite a few people on here showed their concern at the time (and later) regarding this Mr Kelvin Thomas and his ethics regarding payment. It would have been better to have put him on a 'No sale - No pay' agreement, similar to many open contracts that are used these days for various reasons ... though he might well have not agreed to that if he knew things would always be 'iffy'!!

Regarding the daily losses - it would be somewhat prudent now if some good housekeeping were done within the club, and some of the staff were trimmed.
We are going to have to realise that we are no longer a league club and unlikely to be one for a while at this rate, so do we really need fitness coaches, goal keeping coaches, assistant this & that etc?
If we are to remain non-league for long, we really need to be looking at the back-room/office staffing levels, compare ours to other mid-table and above us conference teams and you will see what I mean.

Worrying times indeed, with no sign of a white night riding a charger on the horizon at the moment.
Don't got too crazy about those figures, i imagine thats the money from point of stepping down till June the 3rd or whenever it is.

Also why are people assuming that is KT fee? No details whatsoever have been released about how/how much is he paid, the rumour and stirring is just as irritating as the now news!

Richinns wrote:I know Andy Candy reads these forums and will not comment on threads such as this but please do pass on our gratitude for the tremendous work in keeping the fans part of the community of the club over the last few weeks. There is simply no excuse for not updating the situation and it has just allowed rumours, bad feeling and fear to spread as a result.

Even if we are f*cked updating fans to show (which I am sure there is) there is every avenue being explored to find a solution is imperative.

All we know is the preferred bid has gone t1ts up (probably sometime ago) and you have told the TUST to back-off from negotiations and have not been in touch with them since - and the fact we know this is through the TUST themselves and also local journo's whilst the club remains covert and unresponsive. Shocking.
Yep, exactly my reasons I started the other directors thread it's shocking and to think some of them want to continue in a new consortium - no thanks

As shown by the replies, maybe if you'd gone you could have an opinion on these 'has beens'

I thought it was well publicised, not my taste of music but i think 800 is a decent turnout!

Good points Forever!

Definitely wanted to angle to the transparency, without you create such a breeding ground for negativity.

And yes Hector, the TUST could now be critical! So far everything they've done has been well reported and reasoned. Setting the stall out as transparent and explaining decisions is a must.

TUFC 'Directors'

There's been a lot posted in the last few days about the situation the club is in, and whether this take over will happen or not.

But what we haven't had is any input from the other directors - in total we have had nothing. Last year after Bristol Rovers got relegated I remember every couple of days their chairman would release a statement stating what the next steps were/ what they'd done so far and what was next. They had a lot of unhappy fans but they were open honest and transparent - look where they are now!

From other sites apparently Bill Phillips has been on holiday - at probably the most critical time this club has ever had - this tells me all I need to know about this man, does he care about the future of TUFC?

Some people have questioned Thea in the mix of this but what else could she do?

She's been thrusted into this position due to her windfall and freely admitted she didn't know how to run a football club. Has she had support from the other directors? Clearly not as she had to appoint Kelvin Thomas! And finally she's been hugely generous enough to pass on her shares debt free, what more do people want?

I'm usually not one to doom and gloom post but the seeming disregard the other directors have at this moment in time is infuriating. One of the main reasons Thea is stepping down is due to the effect this is having on her health, can the other directors look themselves in the mirror and say they've done all they can to help?

I'm sure they were there at old Trafford during the good times, but where are they now?

Takeover 50/50 ?

brucie wrote:I would guess that the news is true. Given the statement form Thomas about the 50-50 it should really come as no surprise that the deal has fallen through.
I would guess that the only person to come out of this with any profit will be Kelvin Thomas who seems to have ponced about for months between here and Florida and achieved precisely bugger all whilst picking up a big fat pay cheque from the deranged Mrs Bristow.
What are Mike Bateson and Dangerous Dan MacCauley doing these days?
The TUST have accumalated two shillings and sixpence.
We are fecked - Western League here we come.

No need for that,

everyone knows how much of a kn*b you are brucie, you don't need to keep reminding us.

This kind of comment is stupid, firstly as pointed out Thea is paying him - not the club

Who would you rather sort out this deal Kelvin Thomas or Bill Phillips?

All the lands now under the management and control of the Trust were far nicer places to visit when nature had them to herself. The Trust is just another quango and a drain on the public purse. Not that I can afford the tickets anyway. The cheapest is £10 for a Friday day ticket, plus the cost of getting there, and they most certainly will not be playing my kind of music. And there are plenty of local pubs around south Devon offering good food, real ale and cider, in much more relaxing and congenial surroundings.

Takeover 50/50 ?

hector wrote:Why are people assuming this is a good for the club? The new investors are getting the club for free, other than what they choose to spend on running costs. Is there an assumption they are going to go spend crazy? What if they do the total opposite and cut everything back to the bone?

If there is a hidden agenda (e.g. building, ground sale etc) they are really not going to be too bothered about what happens to the footballing side of the club.

Where it says,"Although acquiring Mrs Bristow's majority shareholding might not be costing anything, the new owners will be taking on considerable ongoing commitments." What exactly are those commitments? The expensive players have all left.

I think a degree of caution is required until the new owners make their intentions clear (or they become clear). It may well be time to invest in TUSTs Yellow Forever campaign, as my gut feeling is that we may need it sooner than we think.
I'm sure some level of due diligence has been done on these buyers,

a dam sight more than what was done on Chris Roberts!
