I think they're all fecking awful but I'm prepared to forgive the new consortium this when weighed against everything they're getting right.

New manager announced - Paul Wotton
I've read elsewhere that when Michael Westcott moved back to South Devon he was considering approaching the Osborne owned club to see if he could offer any help and then out of the blue the opportunity came to buy the club. A little later he was on a train when he happened to bump into Neil Warnock. It feels like a fairy story come true.Southampton Gull wrote: ↑17 May 2024, 13:44 I'm not sure why anyone would feel any negativity about what's already happening in such a short space of time. After the last several years of impending doom I'm feeling very positive about the future. Does anyone else feel the same?
Ever since Thea Bristow dropped the baton this has felt like a zombie club, it barely survived under the Dave Phillips regime (although they are not the villains some paint them as) and under Osborne you knew the club had no future, Gary Johnson or no Gary Johnson.
Now incredibly we have hope and a future and a lot of it is down to Michael Westcott's own good fortune.
To those who feel underwhelmed by Paul Wotton's appointment just remember Frank O'Farrrell came from Southern League Weymouth and Leroy Rosenior from Merthyr Tydfil.

In the past people have only called for a fans forum when they've got a grudge against the club/owners. What's your grudge?North Curry House wrote: ↑14 May 2024, 18:32 Now we have a new owner, manager and advisor it would be an ideal time to have a fans forum to have a Q&A.

Thatchers only sponsor the pop side and the back of the shirts.NotStickingItIn wrote: ↑14 May 2024, 15:31 Plus, I don't think they would be able to plaster "Thatchers" four times on a clip like this without having some kind of connection.
Thatchers might not want to be associated with TUFC and therefore could sue.
I hope the Thatchers commercial manager doesn't read this else he'll think with that level of brand awareness he'd take his sponsorship money elsewhere.

But that would have been before the Bryn consortium were named preferred bidder.MellowYellow wrote: ↑14 May 2024, 10:03 It is also reported that Warnock and Wotton have been working on player-recruitment plans for several weeks.

Club Badge
My preferred badge was the one used from 1977 to 1984 which has the 'Gull's in flight' logo incorporated into the Torquay cost of arms shield.
The 'Gull's in flight' logo has been used since 1968 and is synonymous with this club and should be kept if only for traditions sake.

Bryn Consortium Take-Over
Can't say I've seen any negative comments on here. Sure you posted this on the right forum.Dazza wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 21:43 Hells teeth! Is this as excited as you guys get.,! These gents have saved the club and all you can manage on here is a few begrudged acceptance half remarks. The future will no doubt provide some challenges for owners and fans alike but at least we now have a clear future. Let’s enjoy that before we look around for negatives. THANK YOU to the Bryn Consortium…

With all the talk about having to stabilise the club financially and possibly go part-time I wouldn't think now is the time to buy out a manager's contract. Personally I think this coming season will be one of austerity and we shouldn't expect too much on the pitch, throw in the possibility we may still be in administration come 8th June, even if a sale is agreed we may not even be playing in the NLS.The Great Muta! wrote: ↑08 May 2024, 19:35 I know he signed a new deal at Truro mid season so I very much doubt he'd end up at TUFC...

At this moment in time I believe they are the administrators preferred bidder. They are no more the new owners than the previous preferred bidder who pulled out at the last moment last week.JimNichol'sdog wrote: ↑05 May 2024, 11:44 Not being a lawyer, is it definitive that the consortium is the new owner or are there further legalities that have to be completed before any deal is finalised?

Steve Perryman was a director of football at Exeter City in an unpaid capacity saying it was about him giving back to football. Maybe that is what Neil Warnock has in mind.

Correct. Enfield FC who we played in 1994 still exist and play in the Isthmian League division North although nowadays they ground share with Bishops Stortford.United62 wrote: ↑03 May 2024, 10:54 Feel free to quote me if I'm wrong (I usually am!)... but the team we played back in '94 in the FA Cup was 'Enfield FC'... the team facing Chatham in the play-offs is 'Enfield Town FC' who I think were formed in the early 2000s by supporters who were fed up with the owner of 'Enfield FC'
So, by my reckoning, we've never played either of the two aforementioned clubs.

Rather face Braintree next season than Worthing.standupsitdown wrote: ↑28 Apr 2024, 19:20 Play Off final is Braintree v Worthing.
Maidstone lost to Worthing today so will be in our league again next season and I would imagine will be favourites along with Boreham Wood to go up.
