Johnson latest drivel
At the end of his post-match interview, in response to mention of Tuesday's match against Farnborough, the Gaffer said: "There's gonna be a lot of hard talking, of course, at all levels, and we'll see how it all turns out."
An unusual response to that particular question, in my opinion. Will he walk away before Tuesday or be fired?
I know I've wondered that before but I reckon he knows he's on borrowed time.

If Taunton are struggling financially while playing in this regional football league, imagine the struggle they would have if they ever over-achieved and were promoted to the National Leage premier. Food for thought for some smaller clubs.MellowYellow wrote: ↑13 Feb 2024, 21:07 Start on the premise that Taunton had a winding up petition and transfer embargo for owing the tax man a measly £14k.

Your team, Bath City, couldn't beat Slough at home either, Caroline. Had you forgotten that?Caroline648 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2024, 23:07 I've just finished the washing, cleaning, ironing, cooking and washing up...... so how is it going in this joke league / pub league.
Surely you must have beaten Sluff Town today....... oh let me see.....no.

Taunton have just had a new drain fitted. That might help the pitch a bit I suppose. Fingers crossed for them.
I think they also need rain covers. Surely covers can't be so expensive that a sponsor couldn't step forward and buy some for the club. Taunton is a decent sized town. There must be money there.

New Blue Card
So you've seen a draft of the Blue Card Rules for the 24/25 season too.GULL 67 wrote: ↑09 Feb 2024, 18:47 And me mate. Just another gimmick for the armchair fans. This simple game has enthralled millions for a century. Now they have to find 'entertainment' to keep the numbers subscribing. I propose that for the first 15 minutes defenders have to have their legs tied together, should she more goals. For the last 5 minutes the striker must wear a hood on his head and every other week one team will wear a large red nose and the opposition will wear large shoes instead of boots. The TV audience will increase as Man u struggle with controlling the ball and Liverpool attemp to overcome breathing difficulties caused by the large red nose. Eventually obstacles could be added to the playing area. Starting with hurdles on each goal area it could then progress to crocodiles and tigers patrolling the midfield. Millions will tune in to see if a big star gets his leg bitten of. We'll ger to see it 20000 times on VAR. As a great football manager once said, after a 1-nil scrappy win on a wet winter afternoon, if you wat to see entertainment go and watch clowns.

I don't think it's plausible to think that Johnson is deliberately trying to fail. I absolutely believe he is trying to get the team to win. Whether his efforts are good enough is a different question.
