Dartford v Torquay United, 25th Nov 2023, 3pm
I hear what SG is saying, but there's a stack of teams between ourselves and 2nd who'll fancy there chances, football isn't played on paper, yes 2 wins = 6 points takes us to 2nd, it's so simple isn't it, it's so straightforward, trouble is, it dosen't work out like that, it never does, the number of losses for us is huge worry, after the cup Yeovil win I was very positive, but it feels like this season can't get into any flow, very stop start...The hangover from last season is still within the club, and certain players should of been long gone...

Sadly Russell Coughlin passed away a few years ago, he was a quality midfielder in his prime, by the time he came to us it was at the tail end of his career, but at Argyle he was quality.

I don't mean to sound like capt obvious, but the game isn't played on paper, we need to do a few things and it's mainly a mindset of being prepared, focused and professional, if we can be consistent and go on a run nothing is impossible, but it's highly unlikely in my opinion, you can NEVER underestimate anyone in this league or turn up being complacent, just because they look straightforward on paper it doesn't always pan out that way, for what it's worth don't write off Maidstone, Worthing and Dartford are both decent teams, Braintree looked alright against us earlier on, it isn't just Yeovil, ourselves and the rest are crap, no way, we should have a major advantage being full time, the next 8 games up to Christmas will be interesting.

TUFC V Yeovil (FA Trophy) - 18th Nov 3pm
Got to agree with the vast majority so far, we played very well, Dolan stood out and was MOTM, special mention to Dylan Crowe who I thought was very good, Lovett had one dodgy moment with the clearance and he got away with that but overall he looked pretty assured in goal, we didn't really let Yeovil get into any rhythm or flow, that was down to us closing spaces well, and being fairly compact, only in the last 10 mins we sat deep, Yeovil get a late one and suddenly it's helter skelter time, we saw it out, a lot of positives to take from the game, not going to get carried away, but the signs looked good ![👍](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f44d.svg)

I'm actually going to give this lad a chance and not pre judge him, he could be a "rough diamond" and just what we need, it's good to have a kind of "wild card" player, I'm sure he's rough around the edges, but GJ has been in the game a long time, surely he's seen something that merits a deal for him?, the previous comment about Kevin Hill is a great point,I'm keeping an open mind on him, and let's see what he can do.

I wasn't at the game due to family commitments, but injuries played a part in the outcome, any team in NLS would miss a fit Jarvis and Lapslie, the club would've of known about Dawson and the operation, so they should of dealt with that, that's no excuse to use, we bring in Dolan who then gets crocked, GJ definitely out of luck last night.... someone made a superb point, individually we look good, but we don't play as a team or know a system/formation that really works, like I said about a month ago, when you enter the ground you never really know what you're going to get, very hit and miss, Stobbs and Collins have played higher than this level but both flatter to deceive and I'm not entirely sure about them both, Hall when I've seen him in the past few weeks stil dosen't look fit, either that or he's bulked up, Moxey is still a good player but we're having to over play him constantly, to much for his legs....one thing I would say, it's a basic, we need shooting practice or drills on the training ground, the number of shots I've seen in the last 4 home games going miles over the bar, we need to iron this out, This season feels a bit like last season with no settled XI that you know will deliver the goods, injuries and suspensions taking their toll, and no real style of play, I could go on but I'll only depress myself...

Brilliant, BRILLIANT post Dave
, I really do echo your sentiments and fears, it's a major worry, I don't trust CO as far as I could launch him, his track record with previous ventures of his should send alarm bells ringing very loudly, he wants the land, no doubt about that, one thing and one thing only, the worry is for me, what is the solution?, I really do not know..

Crikey, this isn't good is it?,GJ no doubt about it has been over loyal to a bunch of players who aren't up to it sadly, or past it, one season to many for a few, and the others who were hammered on this platform are decent players in their own right, but even NLS promotion is beyond them, GJ should of taken heed of the warning signs, and to throw in a cast off who's only claim to fame is being on the books of Man Utd but not getting a contract, and having a spell in a "big house" for being pissed behind the wheel, and GJ's son loans him to us, when did he train with us out of curiosity?, to throw him in starting today is beyond desperate , it's hopeless. I said it last evening on here, has GJ given up?, its a sad state of affairs isn't it, I did post on this platform we'd be a top ten side, I've seen signs it's "clicking" and we aren't that bad, but it's to many false dawns for me, we've probably got 4 good players at this level, the others as harsh or blunt as this sounds aren't up to it (getting us back to NL level)..
