I've really tried to be positive and upbeat these last few weeks, but this signing surely is a joke?, I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole personally, damaged goods, and desperate beyond words, surely if GJ's network is basically asking your son for a player, and the best he can provide is this I'd be bloody worried...what a complete shambles, I'm sorry to be negative, I've tried to cut GJ some slack, but with signings like this it makes you wonder if he's given up??

That's a very honest and candid interview, nothing sugar coated or PR garbage, fair play to Danny Bloor.

Torquay Utd v Welling Utd 21/10/2023 15:00

That was a much needed win, GJ must of found a lucky horse shoe from somewhere, both penalties were debateble, to score direct from a corner, a deflected goal, and a Donnellan goal that I'm not entirely sure he meant, for 25 mins we didn't t look great, we got a huge slice of luck out of nothing, we go in 2-1 up, 2nd half was better, Welling not as good, but I thought 5-1 flattered us, we deserved to win, but I'm not entirely convinced by us...You take what's given to you, Donnellan MOTM 2 weeks in a row I'm also not sure about, I did think Jarvis worked hard, Lapslie was lucky esp with flailing arms, he needs to watch that...Credit to Welling, they never hoofed it, probably tried to play out from the back to much and we capitalised on it.

Got to agree with Brucie on this subject, I saw the Borehamwood Vs Welling highlights and Welling looked decent, on another day they could of won, I think they'll try and remain in the game, and look to build into it, if it's 0-0 after 70mins I'll be concerned, I still think we'll win and I stand by my prediction, but it definitely won't be easy at all.

Guessing there's potential for the game to be off with the amount of rain forecast?, if on, I'm going for Gulls 2-1 Welling.

Torquay United v Maidstone Sat 14 Oct KO 3pm

It's a strange one with Dawson, before he came to us Gloucester City weren't really playing him, was that because he was crocked all the time?, he obviously needed an op, but GJ is extremely tight lipped about anything "getting out" almost bordering paranoia at times....I've been a good few times this season, we do miss Dawson but personally I would of looked elsewhere and let him go, that's not knocking him, just his track record/age suggest he's injury prone otherwise I'm sure a league 2 club would of snapped him up.....I do actually feel sorry for GJ he knows the squad hasn't delivered like he thought it was going to, he can't dig them out and slaughter them, these players owe him, he's probably been over loyal, and stuck by them, but what he can't do is hang them out to dry-this is our squad ladies and gents and we have to deal with it, that means working on the training ground, application, professionalism and turning up up and having a go.. I was genuinely impressed on Saturday 1st half, we didn't deserve to be behind, but 2nd half we didn't show up at all, very disjointed and just disappointed with how we performed, I'm not a fan of GJ, but I actually believe he needs up till Christmas and let's see whereabouts we are then.

Torquay United v Maidstone Sat 14 Oct KO 3pm

I have to agree with the other views, some are a bit harsh, in the 1st half how we weren't in the lead before they netted goodness only knows, the Maidstone player hit a weak shot, I turned around to talk to one of my boys, the next minute Maidstone are celebrating the goal, that seemed to knock the stuffing out of us, the 2nd half we basically gave up, passing was poor, crossing abysmal, the freekick we had about 45 yards out and I forget who took it, but on contact with the ball he miskicked and fell over leading to Maidstone nearly getting a 3rd goal- for me that summed it all up 2nd half, real shame as in the 1st half we genuinely looked good, Collins and Lapslie playing well, easy on the eye, but we turned Maidstone into a good team which I don't think they really are, 2nd half they did batter us and looked decent on the break, they had a good few technical players who could pass and move and they seemed in tune whereas we looked like we could play to midnight and we wouldn't of scored...very disappointing, next week if Welling best us surely it's goodnight Vienna Gary...

Torquay United v Maidstone United, Saturday 7th October, 3pm

I wanted to give it a bit of time before I piped up and said my views, first off, will the real Torquay United stand up?, you never quite know what you'll get when you walk through the turnstiles do you?, I hoped like all of us that the players from last season (bulk of them) might of moved on, they didn't, so by now you'd think they might of gelled or shine at this level a bit more, they aren't really doing it consistently right now, and if it wasn't for Mark Halstead we'd be lower in the table!!...What I feel is we haven't got 3 or 4 big strong units in defence or midfield who can mix it and stand up, Jarvis also can't do it alone, Brucie posted 5 fit for purpose players, this might upset a few on this forum, but he's SPOT ON with that view....If we want to tick over in mid table or upper mid table then we've got the players for that, but fans want promotion or being full time we want to be right up there at the top challenging or at least looking the part, weve shown flashes of what we can do this season, but it's all to isolated or in fits and starts...GJ has been a good, solid manager in his day, but I'm not going to get personal on the guy, which I've done in the past, but he needs to go now, he's assembled this squad who on the surface of it all look a team that right now aren't going to kick on or go on a huge run of wins, we look good at times but more often than not it's pretty average, inconsistent and not a team who's heading for promotion.

I'm usually one of the first to get on GJ's back after a loss, but there's no need to be knee jerk, you get results like this in a long campaign, it happens, 9/10 we win the game 2-1,results of late have been improved, it's a set back only, I'm trying to be positive, this league and season was always going to be a lot harder than when we won it, just need to re focus now and reach in the right way,

I thought Chris Roberts big plan/idea was to locate a new stadium down on the seafront/rugby ground, and that idea, along with the numpty he was last all of 5 minutes...
