New Kit New Sponsor !

culmstockgull wrote: 29 Jun 2023, 13:56 As for an ovewhelming poll suggesting that we do not like the new strip , I seem to remember a similar poll last season indicating Johnson should go until it was re platformed and it came out evens, as for a global market, its torquay not some champions league winners , I do not believe the post office will have to take on extra staff to deal with foreign deleiveries of our new kit.
I'm not saying it will be sold out, I'm saying it is getting recognition from a lot of fan sites from around the world

New Kit New Sponsor !

I have a feeling this will be popular in the global market, looking at some the pages like Copa 90 and a few if the big football kit accounts, a LOT of people like the kits, I myself am not a fan of the home kit but the away one is starting to sway me

Players Under Contract

DB57 wrote: 19 May 2023, 22:13 No they’re not. I can agree to buy your house but until I sign the contract there’s no deal. Football is no different. Agreeing to sign is not the same as putting pen to paper.
Right so that recent interview with Tom Lapslie saying he can wait to get started isn't real then? Because he only agreed a contract? Give your head a good shake

New Signings for the 2023-2024 Season

brucie wrote: 17 May 2023, 09:49 Saying that Johnsons signings looked ok before they played is quite frankly ludicrous. Its one of the main reasons that we went down - half his signings last year wernt good enough.

We are not going to walk this league this time despite what everybody says. Ash did well to score 24 goals last year in a struggling team but he was a big fish in a little pond. There will be far more pressure on him this year because the demands on him will be alot higher.

Theres a difference between realism and negativity - Ash is at his level and as illustrated by the clip I put up the defending is a joke. I still worry about our team though, we've got a lumbering, injury prone midfield and nobody who can run with the ball to create chances for the strikers. Our centre halves are all iffy as are our full backs.

Our squad players Crowe, Hanson and Macgavin are probably not even up to this level. That said the majority of the teams are bloody awful so surely we should be in the lay offs at least.
Yet more negativity, I've been on this forum for a while now I honestly can't recall a time where you've actually been positive.

We have no idea how this group of players will perform in the NLS.

I have all faith that Ash will be a decent signing, did well in a struggling team that didn't create many chances, every chance he replicates last year form and then some.

Have a little faith once in a while and it might do you some good

New Signings for the 2023-2024 Season

happytorq wrote: 17 May 2023, 00:21 It's very easy to criticise signings after the fact. Any **** idiot can do that (and look - you have!). With the possible exception of Mensah, all of those names were reasonable. I could go through each one but it clearly wouldn't get through your preconceptions so obviously there's no point.

I asked you to suggest a player that we should be looking at. You're correct that it's not your job, of course, and youre perfectly within your rights to offer no meaningful contribution to any discussion ever aside from the constant negativity. Just seems exhausting, that's all.

happytorq wrote: 16 May 2023, 14:42 hey, brucie - would be interested to know who you think we should be signing. Names, please - bearing in mind the current division, where we are located within England, etc.

I can wait.

Players Under Contract

Nick Potkins wrote: 12 May 2023, 18:11 Do you not think that if Jarvis was staying we would have had it announced by now. Also not a comment from the player saying how he's looking forward to next season with us.

Sadly, it feels like he's off. Leaving us looking for three strikers.
Why would they need to say he's staying when he's under contract?

Good lord there are some sad people in this forum, he simply stated that this is what he was told, you can choose to do what you like with that information.

Seems a bunch if fragile old men who would rather berate others for their posts than actually talking about the topic, how pathetic.

Season tickets - in or out?

Cheddargull wrote: 04 May 2023, 20:04 Ridiculous statement. What you're saying is only the hard core who are prepared to put up with anything are entitled to support the club, our crowds would never get above 1200 if that was the case.
What I'm saying is that it's ridiculous that fans will sit on the fence when it comes to purchasing season tickets, it's basically admitting that you'll only attend if we're in a good situation, supporting a club is about being there when it's bad and good

Season tickets - in or out?

DB57 wrote: 03 May 2023, 22:04 I won’t, and if you bothered to read and understand what I said before, you’d realise it’s not about winning. I’m 72 years old now and first went to Plainmoor when I was about 8 years old. What I see now really hurts me. Don’t try to paint Osborne as some knight in shining armour. He isn’t. And when the loans that have been made to TUFC are called in the mucky stuff will really hit the fan.
If on the other hand he is the saviour you make him out to be he’s not doing a very good job in the implementation of the five year plan is he?
I read what you said and I know fans like you all too well, say they won't go to games but once torquay start winning, you all seem to come out of the woodwork, as long as you stick to what you say then that's all that matters

Season tickets - in or out?

DB57 wrote: 03 May 2023, 09:00 It’s not about winning. You don’t support Torquay for the winning. Far from it.
It is though, about supporting a club that doesn’t treat its supporters with contempt and does at the very least try to act in a professional manner.
At the moment we have an owner who isn’t interested, a Chief Executive(?) who is arrogant at best, a part time manager who has achieved nothing in his time here and a so called Media Team who are more interested in promoting carvery’s than communicating properly with the fans.
We are now back to regional football and deservedly so and although I don’t like it I can accept that it’s a consequence of an abysmal season
We might walk the league, but I won’t be buying a season ticket until the values of the club take a significant turn for the better
We also have an owner that stopped us going under years ago, when there was no interest in us there was someone to bankroll us.

You may not like the owner and that's fine but don't underestimate what he has done for the club also.

Don't buy a season ticket which is completely fine but don't bother going when things are going well

Season tickets - in or out?

DB57 wrote: 02 May 2023, 23:14 No chance! After 60+ years of supporting TUFC I will not commit any more to this rotten regime from ownership to piss poor management which has taken us back once again to regional football.
Better and more important things to do with my money than to throw it blindly into an organisation that supports abject failure.
We'll expect your support when we start winning again?.
