FACR1 Replay - Derby County Torquay Utd Mon 14/11/22

Thought Torquay played reasonably well last night, however the difference between the two sides was that Derby had players throughout their team who weren't afraid the have a go. Torquay seem to think they have to play the ball between themselves and more times loose possession with a poor pass. The final ball just isn't there, like a lot of the games this season.
Still undecided about Jarvis ..he's certainly no Danny Wright!!
Just an interesting point, did anyone notice Warne's socks when he was being treated for the nose injury . I know the club is strapped for cash but his socks were full of holes quite large ones at that. Wonder if they are available in the Club Shop.
Still big game to come on Saturday and an even bigger one the week after COYY
PS. Great support from the Yellow Army.. were only outnumbered by Derby supporters by about 6 to 1 ..that's what being a Torquay supporter is all about !!

MOTM - Chesterfield

Apart from the Lapslie and De Silva as previously mentioned no one else to talk about .

Maybe the rest were thinking about the replay against Derby. Forgot about the main concern is staying in this league.

Having said that Chesterfield were clinical in their finishing

Mark Ellis Signs?

Well at last!! May not be everyone's choice, but he has always turned in a professional performance and will bring in some stability to the back line. He must start, no good sitting on the bench and bringing him on when we are 2 or 3 goals down.

Glad that Gary has responded to the fans comments of late

Regarding following the game, Just heard for those not able to get to the match its being broadcast on Radio Devo proper...no other sport on this afternoon so they have decided to cover the Gulls.

Much better than trying to find it on the tinternet..or that very basic TUFCRadio...oh my word !!

Keys to Defending Better

Regarding defending, at free kicks and corners...all the players should be aware of what's going on around them. Open their eyes and mark the opposition..not just form a queue on the 6 yard line!! B****y Hell it's not rocket science!! Just the basics of defending what you were taught when you first started playing

Would have thought Aaron Downes would know that wtf!!

Gary Johnson, stick or twist?

Just seen u tube of Gary after last night's game at Eastleigh

Yet another defeat Another penalty given away Another Red Card.

He appeared a lot more concerned ..as he should be.

Was'nt hiding under his baseball cap and spoke very genuinely about his and Aaron's position in the club at the moment.

Injuries , suspensions and lack of usable players are all adding to the problems at present.

Really don't know the answer. When asked about bringing more new faces in he always says they need to be better than what he's got!! Well in my opinion that is wearing thin !! He needs to act fast now before the trap door gets even wider.

He always says he has talks with George and that the money is there ,,if needed !! Don't need to have a very IQ to that it is..and very quick

Keating Signs!

Well not sure if there is any truth in this. Maybe more Fake news

However someone needs to be brought in as cover for our depleted foward line as it stands at present, and if he was to return he was always a fans favourite .. however think a lot more signings ..experienced ones at that and in defence especially is essential

Lets see !!!

Can We Make the Play Offs?

Agree with all the recent threads.

GJ seems hell bent on loading up the mid field with players brought in recently, after Danny Wright's unfortunate departure last night we really had no like for like replacements on the bench.

A new decent striker is a must, and a permanent one at that.

All very well having loan players in, but we should be looking to build for next season. These lads however good they are ,and they really highlight the difference between themselves and the majority of midfielders we have signed on.

Like it or not I just can't see us being involved in the playoffs, this season. So probably mid table is all we can hope for.

And next season.........now that's another story!!

Welcome Stephen !!

Well another Stephen...and a midfielder too !!

Maybe a great signing but it does raise the question about the future of The Lemon and Little ??

Both have contracts till the end of this season,as far as I am aware . So could Uncle Clarke want to cash in on these better players in the transfer window.

Rumours that Wrexham have made an offer for CLE, true or not will be an interesting to see what the future holds.
