Player of the season 21/22

Little too inconsistent baffles me, without his contributions this season where would this side be in the league? The boy can’t catch a break even after the season he’s having, if he doesn’t score or assist in one single game that’s it he’s had a crap game!

Armani Little

culmstockgull wrote: 23 Mar 2022, 18:46 I most definetely do not not wish to see him at Plainmoor next season and I nor do not think he will be, mind you that goes for three quarters of the squad. For those of us that actualy attend every match at plainmoor they will know that the most complimentary thing that could be said about him is that he is inconsistent, one match he turns up and plays exceptionally well, the next two he doesn't have the heart or the interest for it, his crossing and free kicks, once his most obvious talent have become an embarassment. We are more balanced as a team when he is injured. So if saying something that doesnt sound pscophantic is considered a moan then so be it.
As a team have scored 21 goals from set plays 🤔 little 10 goals 13 assist you no your football 🥱🥱

Torquay United v Boreham Wood Tuesday 22 Feb KO 19.45

portugull wrote: 21 Feb 2022, 19:55 United host F A Cup giant killers Boreham Wood in a game both clubs will be desperate to win for different reasons.

The Wood look to maintain 3rd place in the Table while United seek 3 points to make up for dropping 2 points against a Barnet team who we should have put to bed by half time.

I want to see Duke McKenna taking at least some of our free kicks because Armani is a terrific player but he is too selfish when it comes to free kicks and too inconsistent. Come on Gary it is up to you as the Gaffer to bring a bit more variety into our set plays and get the opposition wondering what to expect.

If we had a striker I would go 2-1 United but we lack firepower so I predict 1-1. I know I could be wrong and I hope I am which is why I never bet on Football!
Yeah cause Little not got many assist Wrexham from free kick Dover Corner 🥱 3 assist out last 3 games 🤔🤷‍♂️

Little’s dead ball delivery’s? Don’t get me wrong his first 2 free kicks wasn’t good enough for his usual standard, but his last one was very close and unlucky! As for the corners he must of had around 10 or so and I can only remember one being over hit, especially in them tricky conditions everyone bar 1 was put into a good area. We also scored from 1 of his wide free kicks so that makes it 3 games in a row that we have score from set plays 🤷🏻‍♂️

Parkys People wrote: 24 Nov 2021, 10:19 Shaun Mac and the back 4 are fine, I don't have many concerns with MacDonald, Wynter, Moxey, Lewis & Harry Perritt. I do want to see more width in the attacking areas, not getting that currently. Moxey is 35/36, Wynter is naturally rigid in position.

Lapslie isn't a technical player, nor will he get on the ball and create an opportunity or threaten to score. His heart, commitment and bravery are great if he has an Alex Russell/Jason Fowler like alongside him. I just see Matt Hockey, he won't win the game, but he has his obvious positives & will be better when he is just a water carrier. He is trying to get forward and it's not his strength.

Little is having to be take it by the scruff of the neck and make things happen, he doesn't have the players around him. You see Dimitar Berbatov at Man Utd, he had Scholes, Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo. When he was with Bulgaria, he didn't perform as well, his team mates around him were not on his wave length. He's got goals this season, yet in another team Armani Little would bring more. A 3 of Lapslie terrier like sitting, with Little/CLE in advance getting forward please.

Losing Nemane and Whitfield has not been rectified. Last night a left back and left footed centre midfielder, lacking pace, formed our wide options. That was out of necessity, we don't have the money to bring anyone in and the options available don't bring balance to the team. (Chiori isn't a winger, Keelan isn't overly excelling in his first season playing regular men's football) It's no surprise that it goes long in search of a goal, there's no out ball.

Rectifying the lack of balance out wide will help our current struggle, no end. I hope we can find the budget to do that & that GJ is still here to to bring in that person. He goes and it's a young novice ala Nicholson or an older novice ala Gary Owers that replaces him. Might need to move on someone from Omar, Halstead, Asa, Andrews, Wright to free up budget & do that, which seems unlikely. Or else it's an 18 year old with no first team experience, learning on the job again, at best.

Disappointing, but expected us to end up lower mid table, hoping we do now.
Some good points you make, I would tell Lapslie to sit and push Little further forward with the goal scoring form hes in

Yes for sure AL was getting abuse and booing from 15 minutes into the game, with hes goals and assist can see clubs coming in for him and wouldn't blame him for going !!!!

I do however know, my interpretation of statistics is as viable as yours, and without the need to question your competance with it. I do also know when a teams played poorly against a side bottom of the league. You only need eyes for that.

I also know data can be interpreted in numerous ways to fit the criteria of what the user is trying to conclude.

As I said before, you can't compare his statistics unless you have someone else in his position to compare them too, and for a period of games. Some good old fashioned empirical data. Although I'm sure his would compare favourably.
If another player scores less, sets up less, then Littles doing well. if another player scores more or/and sets up more from the same position, then you guessed it, Little is only doing ok, and isn't the saviour of our season. It's not rocket science.

Keep nodding your head, sooner or later someone will come along and pat it.
Give your head a wobbly, 7 goals 6 assists say defeat 🤔
