Are we in the realm of hoping that a saviour(s) who will be obtained in Jan will pull the club out its current position?
If what GJ says in relation to the squad is correct then he us deluded. Having seen all the home games this season we aren’t tough enough and get bullied by the opposition.
Our marquee signings whoever they may be are more one man tent ones. I despair in that we have an attack to win games, Jarvis tries hard all huff and puff, Goodwin has potential but is learning his trade and Andrews is just inept and offers nothing.
We need to control the midfield and have a general in there, give me a Hargreaves/Russell player any day !
Hope springs eternal they say ……

Why speculate on a new manager this will only happen IF GJ decides to walk away. He won’t be sacked by the board he is tooo entrenched in the club, He will go on his terms
We haven’t got a hands on Chairman and a small elite board as such so we will carry on staring NLS fully in the face and becoming a part time club.
Does a returning player EVER make a good job of managing a club ? Be interesting to see if any names are forthcoming ? It’s like the return of prodigal sons as players very few successes

Goes without saying thoughts with Evans and what seemed a nasty one.
Plus points - Jarvis & Goodwin but they need to link up better.
Negatives - Midfield and defence ! Omar got out muscled and doesn’t seem strong enough. McGavin looks like a rabbit in the headlights he didn’t want the ball. Lapslie should play in front of the back four, not doing a Duracell bunny impression.
Why wingbacks ??? It doesn’t work !! Go back to 4-4-2 and be done with it.
We are crying out for a grizzled hard experienced CB such as a Downes/Branson/Ellis !
Unless things change we will see crowds below 1500 and supporters becoming more angry.
Final point - why are referees so poor in NL !

Well that was a particularly uninspired post match interview ! Bringing out the usual c**p that “we matched them ......... blah blah blah “
Distinct lack of passion from GJ, and surely he can see that the squad is weak, poor and struggling , how many injuries are we carrying when Lapslie &Wyatt are both on the bench but not fit ! Where was our marque forward Corie Andrews ?
The next game could prove to have a toxic atmosphere at Plainmoor as Scunny have proven toe a bogey side for us ..... remember the 7-1 game and the last game of the season when we need to win to go up and lost .... Dave Caldwell fought like a Trojan that game !
So is it time for a change ? I don’t think so but maybe this will be forced upon the club if GJ walks away
On the plus side we did have a great time in NLS didn’t we ! Lol

Retained List 2022/23
No need is good news surely ? GJ said nothing would be announced till next month so why the panic about the silence ? Hopefully the naff announcement that happened last year isn’t repeated but maybe the media department have ideas to be as amazing as some Premier League clubs ???
I see that some clubs have put out there new signings but it isn’t that many so time to chill and have faith in management team ?

Retained List 2022/23
Tricky one really in relation to where the club sits. I believe the new intake will be better than last year as I think approaches have been made on or before the end of last season. I’m sure GJ knew that certain players would be looking to leave and the contract offers were made as a last resort ?
The loan market could be key to this as we did get some good additions last year In my humble opinion.
What does disappoint me is the lack of loyalty of players nowadays, I recall the case of Angus Macdonald who signed a contract then left for good money, clearly helping the club at the time but nothing like that has been shown by Messrs CLE/Little and co
Let’s see what the next 4-6 weeks brings

Numerous youngsters released from The Gas but guess we have to be realistic and focus on non league ones ?? Still fancy Louis Britton but he could be a work in progress

Retained List 2022/23
So the retained list will be out soon, presume we will be left with the bare bones of a squad maybe 6-7 remaining and maybe it is time for a big shake up ???
Then the joys of reviewing all the released lists from league clubs and the conjecture on who may or may not be considering joining Gary’s new look TUFC. Is it actually worth looking at the Football League lists or are we gonna be limited to non league released players ? Who knows and time will tell
So names to conjure with perhaps could Atagana, Amond and then there’s Louie Britton ex BCFC who I felt showed promise a season ago ! Oh the joys of hoping, thinking maybe just maybe then the deflation when we sign a Johnny journeyman from somewhere !
But having said that the call to Plainmoor will be made pre June 22 and the season ticket purchased !

Former Torquay Uniorquay United manager Frank O'Farrell has died at the age of 94.
I used to like seeing him walking to Plainmoor for home games until some bright spark at the club rescinded his free ticket ! Don’t know if that was ever sorted out ??
Anyway a sad loss, a total gent RIP Mr O’Farrell
