Torquay Utd v Worthing 12/8/2023 15:00

My prediction this week, 3-1 with the third coming very late on, in squeaky bum time.

York City v Torquay United, Saturday 8th October, 2022

First game this season, one of the 251. This thread makes interesting reading, I notice those who did not attend quick to be critical, those who did less so. Also it is interesting to see the “York” commentary team gaining prise from those sitting at home, not sure on what basis, having listened to some of it, it does not necessarily reflect what I watched. Perhaps the clue is in the name.
In summary yes we are not anywhere near the last few years, however a Little taking the ball off the back three would make a major difference, oh yes, many of the same wanted rid of him, now look at what we have got I am sure you are happy now, not.
Right that off my chest, some confidence and this team has the potential for a mid table position. Possibly rose tinted glasses but I have seen worse, a lot worse, in the re-election years.

Playoff Final Vs Hartlepool at Ashton Gate

Very frustrating 4 hours, kicked out of website when nearly in and the phones were exciting if ultimately frustrating as reached last 3 on three occasions only to hear Patrick’s message and get kicked out. Highlight was 197 to number 1 in queue then out of system. I have expressed my views on the phone system to the club!

Yes Ashton Gate was not big enough for either club, as this will be my first non attendance at Wembley/play off final however I think it will be an advantage to us, Bristol City connections, and my non attendance will be insignificant if we can get back in the league, so all those going make sure you sing and support for those of us who cannot attend.

Notts County v Torquay United 12/10/19 3pm

Covolan should not pick up the blame for what was a quality goal in any standard let alone the National League, perhaps we should consider the amount of our shots and crosses that Notts County blocked and closed down, could we have done better. The highlights show some of the shots being blocked but many of our crosses were cut out at source. In the second half Cameron was giving Covolan stick for staying back for some of the long balls when we were stretched, that is definitely an area that needs addressing.
However the key for me was the experience and footballing knowhow in the Notts County team, No8 Doyle*s management of the referee just before Wynter's booking was worth watching, the number of free kicks won around our box for minor pushes etc... a very streetwise side, we missed Asa Hall responding in the referees ear. Our young midfield was outfoxed on this occasion.
Anyway onwards and upwards coyy
