I can remember in the mid/ late 90’s there was 1 away fan in the old away end (open roof)
The team was from up north (Rochdale, Scarborough or somewhere equally as grim)
The sad thing is I think we lost

National league meeting
I have also read that Option 2. The league offering clubs a grant is off the table.
Just out of interest has the club ever revealed streaming figures and how does this compare to normal gate receipts.
I would think the majority of regular visitors to Plainmoor would purchase the stream plus a good number of away supporters who wouldn’t normally travel?
Take yesterday for example we would normally take a couple of hundred away to notts county surely the same number who watch the home streams would watch the away meaning Notts county would get a good cash boost?
Is this enough with any grants already given to keep the season going?
In guess teams in NL N&S don’t have enough fans for this to keep them going?

My Top 10 Torquay United Memories.
I have a gap of a few years due to sporting commitments and family but my favourite memories (not necessarily best matches)
1. Hereford (Home) 1993
Sounds a weird one I know, especially as it was 0-0 but it was my first United game and for some reason I was hooked from there and dragged my old man along most Saturdays from then on.
2. Gillingham (home) 1993
2-1 win and a pitch invasion, what more can you ask for. If I remember rightly this results guaranteed us safety for another season.
3. Preston North End (home) 1994
Playoff match and a full house. 2-0 win and surely we are going to Wembley? I listed to the away game on the radio in disappointment (the start of things to come) we had a really good side that year as well.
4. Exeter (home) 1996ish
We dominated them, hot day, carnival atmosphere, Rodney Jack masks out on the pop side. Those were the days
5. Orient (Away) 1998
Not the result we wanted but my first ‘proper’ away day. (Not a local derby) support was excellent
6. Scarborough (Home) 1998
Thought we were unbeatable that day. If we played half as good in the final we would of walked it
7. Plymouth (Away) 2001 I think
2-2 draw. We were un fancied and snatched a draw. Felt like a win, great atmosphere.
8. Plymouth (Home) 2011
Completely outplayed them and won 3-1 great to see us dominate our a club that has always overshadowed us (although it didn’t last long)
9. Woking (Away) 2019
Another great away day and that goal and scenes at the end.
10. Hungerford (Home)2019
It seems few of our memorable matches we actually play well. It’s show football is more than just the results. Great day and amazing to see us lift the trophy.

The Plainmoor Roar
My memory is terrible but am I wrong when I say we were without the full pop side for the Scarborough game? (Or maybe it was the PNE playoff match) as the old pop side was being demolished to make way for the new stand.
I seem to remember there being a few hundred standing on the ground after the old stand was demolished waiting for the new one to be rebuilt?

The return of fans
I didn’t make it last night but I can not commend the club and stewards in bristows bench on Saturday.
Having spent most of the year shielding due being vulnerable I decided to take a risk and go on Saturday and I felt completely safe. I must admit I felt a little emotional when the players ran out and being able to share these moments with my son again. That’s what football is all about, the icing on the cake is how the team are performing.
I am surprised that all the tickets aren’t being snapped up but as people have previously said maybe season ticket holders have safety worries.
If anyone is on the fence about going I would say go for it, safer than going to the supermarket and the atmosphere has been good as well.

Great performance again

Stream is poor, commentary makes ours sound like match of the day.
If I was Gary I’d be telling them to shoot on sight with that joker in their goal

The coverage is even worse today. Do they usually block out the pitch noise?
They need to sort the commentary out as well

Just a thought for those of you with poor internet speeds. Buy and connect to a mobile WiFi hotspot. The pre loaded data should get you through a fair few matches if you only use for this. I’ll connect a link they sell them at Currys Argos etc

2019/2020 Kits
All 4 kits are amazing by far the best we have had in a long time perhaps ever. The black shirt is the first I have purchased since I was a child and I also love the white away shirt.
Loving the branding coming out of the club at the moment but have to agree the price tag of the anniversary shirt for the quality was disappointing.
The promotion coming from the club is hopefully a sign of future ambition.

Best Three Moments of 2018/19 Season
You can’t beat the late equaliser against Woking it has to be up there for all time Torquay moments. Fans celebrations were unreal as well.
