Pre-Season Friendlies

Mr Tea808 wrote: 29 Jul 2023, 23:09 I thought B teams were all phased out in about 2001!!, It's flowering it up to call them Saints B team, we all know it was their U21's,...I said many weeks ago when we beat Reading's U16's I take nothing from pre season friendlies, they are merely a fitness exercise, I cannot believe people PAY good money to watch them?, What is the point??.GJ DOES owe us, it was his squad and his marquee signings, his formations and tactics, I'll stop now but you get my drift, sadly I can see us in NLS few a few years to come, this is our new level.
Fully agree Mr Tea808 I would not waste my money on pointless PSF. The important stuff starts at Dover.
Johnson admits he OWES us and he does Big Time.
A so called experienced previous Championship manager and now back in the 6th tier. As we are blessed with this situation, let’s hope we can come flying out of the blocks 🏃‍♂️

Southampton Gull wrote: 29 Jul 2023, 22:06 And back he comes after a defeat.....

Technically he owes us nothing, we're back where we started.....
Many others will disagree with you SG but it is all about opinions 🤷‍♂️
Even Johnson eventually admitted he owes us… maybe you missed that.
Internet problems sorted in Hants ? so welcome back

Pre-Season Friendlies

Thankful the PSF games are over, todays result proving none of us should take these games in Pre season with a huge pinch of salt.
Johnson has lots to work on this week especially in defence which was our achilles last season. Dover game as we all know is the bread and butter, we need a fast start to the season .
You owe us Johnson big time.

Argyle the arse end of the country and the first stop from Cornwall hence the support they get. What else is there for them ? Think they will find their comeuppance this season 🤞

Players Under Contract

PrestonGull wrote: 23 Jul 2023, 16:56 Why do you need to know who is injured and how long they may be out for??
It is called being a supporter Preston with respect. Have you never been in a ground before a game and wondered why such and such is not playing
and fans being curious and asking each other the question ? Maybe you haven't ...I certainly have.
Are you not that bit interested to find out where Dawson is...I can guarantee you most true fans of our club would like to know in my opinion.

Yellow6 wrote: 23 Jul 2023, 18:48 Was it another PSF you commented on despite not having been there?…….again. Armchair expert?
I no longer go to the pointless games, it is my choice I prefer the nitty gritty stuff when points are at stake.
I have a very expensive luxurious armchair where yeaterday I was able to view the golf and cricket, but was pleased that the boys got a good result, a shame there were not 3 points at stake, but thanks for your concern Yellow6
As a reminder this is a Player under contract thread...not the pre season games as a reminder to you

Cannot ask for anymore than that. Building up nicely and seemingly on schedule. Good result.

Players Under Contract

Taelee73 wrote: 22 Jul 2023, 13:26 The silence around injuries is infuriating, its NLS for goodness sake. Are other teams really going to be fretting about who plays where for us as long as the player in can play in that position. Any spies watching us will see what players are out and our style of play anyhow.

We like to guess the team selection, formation or just like to know we have our strongest side out. This cloak and daggers stuff is ridiculous, just tell us, is Dawson out for weeks, months, the season.

Its obvious neither will be match fit/ready for the opening game unless they're rushed back, so just let the fans know!
The silence is pathetic, it’s a Johnson thing and his dinosaur management style. I am sure the Part timers in the Pasty League will not give a damn who is injured, but the paying supporters out of courtesy deserve better.
Hope for a positive performance today and will look forward to updates

Mr Tea808 wrote: 22 Jul 2023, 10:33 The new additions do look good, Craske in particular will be good, he was very good when featuring for Truro last season, Ash is livewire, he'll run and chase down and maybe having a settled squad from last season will help with the continuity...I still do wonder about Marshall, Crowe,McGavin and Hanson, but perhaps these 4 won't feature much, I don't mean to be harsh but NLS maybe to much for them..All in all the signs are pretty healthy.
Personally have not seen Craske as not bothered with the PSF, however reports look promising.
The 4 mentioned hopefully will not feature as you say maybe a few sub appearances if we are desperate.
Hopefully their agents can move them on , if any of them have any ambition of playing regularly.

New additions look promising, hopefully add competition to the dross that was. Thought Moxey had a knee op in the summer. More concerned about the Dawson silence, what is the secret ffs ?

Dave wrote: 16 Jul 2023, 11:23 Good point, our team already looks strong in the attacking third and you can see us scoring goals, however if we don't fix the problems at the back, that saw us conceded so many late, and sloppy goals, it will hinder our chances of making a quick return.
Yes sure GJ is looking for another Nico Lawrence who was a rare breed and so intelligent .
It annoys me to see the schoolboy defending, attempting to shield the ball, losing it and immediately conceding a goal.
If in doubt kick it out.
Up top Ash looked lively and I will stick my neck out now and say he will score more than Jarvis this coming season ⚽️⚽️
Happy if anyone thinks different and fancies backing our Giroud ?

Saw the goals last night on YouTube. Well taken goals by us, however goals 1and 2 conceded awful schoolboy defending by the usual culprits 🥱
