Gulls v Halifax

Armani Little TUFC's version of Andy Carrol.
Its no good being forkin injured fo 50% of the season .
Especially when we're in our position.
Can't afford luxury players at this club, time to rethink his value to the team & at the moment less than useful.

Torquay United v Ebbsfleet United 25/1/20

I couldn't agree more with how disappointing the performance was yesterday but tbh our results have been abysmal against the bottom teams this season that I'm quite happy to have gained a point instead of shipping a goal & losing again.
This team of ours is in transition & will probably have a completely different look next season, so let's see this season out in relative comfort with no more major mishaps.
Gary knows it & any supporter with an ounce of brain cells knows it too, this team is not good enough to achieve promotion this year & if it did we'd be struggling massively next year without major changes on the playing front.
We have finally got some stability, we're no longer a basket case club, lets all take a moment & relax & calm down & ready ourselves for a serious go next year , it ain't gonna happen this year I can tell you that much for sure.

AFC Fylde vs Torquay United 18/01/20

I have to admit that when we went 1 down relatively early again I thought no more than " here we go again " but fair play to the lads it sounds as if they earned that result.
More of the same please onwards & upwards.
Well done GJ & the boys & of course ths magnificent yellow army.

Right I'll ask the question to all of you GJ doubters ( who not 6 months ago were fawning at his feet ) which the **** is there out there better qualified to take on his job ?
Ffs give the man some time, some if you are so short sighted its embarrassing.
Just changing the manager is not going to resolve our injury crisis is it.
We have the opportunity to resolve squad issues now & GJ has said he will, so get behind him & thank your lucky stars we have a manager with the stature & proven record at this level currently at our club , so be warned we'll all miss him when hes gone mark my words.
Be very careful what you wish for.

Johnson out

All this crap spouted about dispensing with GJ's devices is stupid.
Everyone knows about the incredible bad luck we've suffered with long term squad injuries & at a club like ours you're not going to have decent first teamers not even making the match day squad week in week out & keep a happy cohesive atmosphere within.
On paper our strongest 11 are good enough for a top 7 finish but right now there are so many missing any result in our favour is a bonus.
Time heals & GJ will get it right, remember all those years ago when a certain Alex Ferguson couldn't buy a result anywhere ? They stuck with him & look what happened !
Mid table is a decent expectation this year so let's get there as soon as possible & then make 2020/21 an early focus.

Aaron Nemane signs!

Let's not get too sentimental about enigmatic players such as Opi or to a lesser extent Kalvin, proactive management is key & GJ is on the case , players need to step up week in week out & if they can't then its au re voir monsieur that's the nature of success at any level Sir Alex was a master at it & he didn't have a bad record did he ?

Re: Torquay United v Stockport 30/11/19

That was a blast back to the 'legend's of Nicholsona days.
Absolutely shocking, much more of that & GJ will be on his bike & we'll be back to looking for previous players to take the realm.
This can be fixed but it needs a fix now.

Re: Clarke Osborne

All I can say is be careful what you wish for Jamie.
The grass isn't always greener & in GJ you have the perfect manager at this time in your career.
Two examples of good & bad decision making from players is
1, Ben Whitfield, totally ostracized by his previous manager & now reaping the benefits in having someone to look after him properly, whether it be a kick up the arse or an arm around the shoulder.
2, Mark Loram, an absolute genius at TUFC but when the bright lights of London came calling was found wanting & couldn't hack it & his football suffered as a result until he came back home & then carried on where he left off .

desperado wrote: 03 Nov 2019, 08:02 We are right in this now and Garys got the momentum going like last season , we are scoring goals for fun and the players must be hungry for another title. He has gradually improved the team despite a fair few injuries, Cundy has been a great signing and now Cameron can see what he's doing they are forming a good partnership. Whitfield has been terrific and Buse and Vincent have been full of energy and slick passing and exceeded my expectations. With Janneh back the goals should keep coming, I said at the start of the season that Reid couldn't be expected to get 30 goals again but expected him to get 20 plus . At this rate he is going to get close again. Just hope he and the club reject all offers in January , getting back in the League is far more important.
Couldn't agree more, excellent comment

Re: FA Cup 1st Round Draw - Who do you want?

As long as the club prepare properly & don't regard this tie as a given we should see this one through & put our selves in with a chance of bagging a big boy in round 3.
I'm sure Maidstone will chuck everything inc the kitchen sink at us & with a bit of luck & professionalism ( very rarely seen at TUFC with previous regimes) we will prevail.

Re: Where has the Drummer Man Gone

I'm sure in the covenant applied to Plainmoor by the Cary estate that in theory anyone at any time can walk across the plainmoor playing surface at any time without fear of reprisals, there again I did read this in a book by Laura Joint published in the 90's.
I may be wrong but I may be right

Rode our luck but a gutsy performance none the less, Kalala imperious & Matt Buse deserved that for his energetic performance.
A good & vital win , this team is learning very quickly.
Well done lads.

Ubi Gilbertus est?

Let's be honest, he was certainly looking shabby, scrawny & disheveled - reminiscent of the previous regime - & until club provides a replacement up to date costume I'd rather not see him .

Torquay United v Harrogate Town 7/9/19

As for the size of attendances , you have to factor in the fact that a lot of the clubs in this league are not supported in the way football league clubs are away from home.

Most lge 2 clubs would bring in the region of 250 + , some of the bigger clubs towards the 800-1000 taking our home gates towards the 3k mark on a regular basis.

Most of us regular 2500 die hard will put up with the inconsistency we've shown at home so far but a lot of floating supporters want a virtual guarantee we have more than a 50/50 chance of a home win.

The club has done so well to increase the average home gate from 1500 to their 2500 or so today by showing stability off the pitch to employing a PROPER football manager who knows what hes doing by providing a competitive (but inconsistent) team on the pitch. Keep winning at home & then the fans will return quicker than not.

I should be shouldn't I really.
But now into season 41 & I still believe I'm doing the right thing by backing the gulls.
It's the hope that kills you & knowing that this squad have got it in abundance frustrates me when it doesn't click. Mind you there's a reason the boys are playing at this level
However, I'd rather support my local side than be a Man U 'loyal' fan, or such as- never have done never will do.
