TUFC 2019/20 Squad

Saw on twitter that we are being linked to Daniel Leadbitter who was released by Bristol Rovers.

Not sure how genuine this is but a former player of ours who plays RB/CB if I remember correctly.

TUFC 2019/20 Squad

Game of opinions I guess, I personally would love it if we picked up the best player in the league below us that has a hunger to prove himself at a higher level rather than a group of journeyman who want one more pay day down by the coast. Reid fits that profile perfectly... but we already have him on our books!

Dont get me wrong, experience is vital but that must come with determination and in recent years we have recruited badly when it comes to that type of player and have had big wages sacrificed for players that just dont care but were once half decent. A blend of experience with the right mindset coupled with the best of the league we have just come from would be perfect imo.

TUFC 2019/20 Squad

If we were in the conference and our manager signed the top goal scorer in the league below us (and player of the year for the league) we would be over the moon and he would be the first player on the team sheet.

We need to ignore the last time we were in the conference and give him the respect he's earned. Being a striker is about confidence and having a manager who builds around your game, he has both now plus a more experience. People also seem to forget last time he was at this level he was pushed out wide all the time.

Reid has proved alot of us wrong and I dont doubt he will continue to do so next season now he has the right support.

Another angle to look at this is its a great time for Gary Johnson to ask for a decent budget for next season!

Whether he is in demand or not he certainly holds the cards when it comes to what will keep him happy. Argyle wont be in a rush to appoint having no games to play and will want to get it right, and that could give Gary enough time to work things further in his favor with the owner.

Cornish, Greeks and that other Green team.

From what I can see he is 6/1 and second favorite behind Holloway.

Im hoping Gary is at the point in his life where happiness and unity is more important than managing a 'bigger team' in the league.

From Argyle's perspective it really would be a appointment a clueless board would make with little game plan or strategy... "he's done well at our neighbours (all be it three leagues below) they seem to like to like him so lets steal him".

If they dig a bit deeper they would be concerned how his recent league jobs have gone in the league below where they are currently and perhaps that would put them off (well that's what Im hoping anyway!). They also keep talking about long terms plans etc and I would think they would want a younger manager in place to fit their strategy.

TUFC 2019/20 Squad

Sendels-White has just confirmed on twitter he is leaving and looking forward to a new challenge.

Personally would have liked him go stay but the writing was on the wall when he left the celebrations 30 mins earlier than the rest of the team last Saturday.

I'd be interested to know how your meeting with Andrew Candy went today?
Was good to meet Andrew, seems like a very nice and geniune man who has Torquay United best interests at heart. It is quite clear however that he isn't in charge of the seating policy at the club, and the stewards hadn't given him the message to contact me as had been stated would happen.

I was called last night by someone at the club and asked to put in an email the issues that occurred and did so that evening, without response as of yet (I do appreciate they've had a busy day!).

We paid to go into the family stand as that's where my son wants to sit from now on so can't give an opinion on how things went in the main stand but with a smaller crowd I'm assuming it was easier for people to find alternative seating if there were problems (which was clear people still were encountering from our vantage point).

Completely agree with Grockle on this but it seems this is not going to be the likely outcome.

I have had a call from someone senior at the club this evening who although sympathised advised people who book online should be able to claim their seats at anytime and the stewards and staff on gates will be advised of this to make sure they are all saying the same things- if you buy on the gates you need to sit on the seat numbered on the ticket, so turn up with everyone you want to sit with and go in using the same turnstile one after another or your stuffed!

I've been asked to put my frustrations in writing, which I have done but it won't change anything I'm sure.

Anyway we will try again tomorrow but just sit in the family stand to avoid unnecessary drama.

Hi Andrew, your name was given as the person is charge of seating who was going to come and see us at half time but then was too busy so was going to call us after the game but didn't.

If your saying the two stewards that advised me this were not in contact with you then someone has been lying to me.

I'm more than happy to meet you tomorrow to address this directly with the stewards that gave me this information.

Looked to speak to Andy Candy today, who I was advised is in charge of such matters, he was supposed to contact me but hadn't so I thought I should contact him.

I spoke to the young chap answering the phones and put my point across, he confirmed we shouldn't have had to move seats. I asked for someone senior within the club to call me but he called back later in the day to advise they were all too busy but they will be making an announcement before the game tomorrow changing the policy.

The lack of empathy shown from a problem they have caused astounds me.

Seating issues

We travel from Tavistock to every home game when I'm not working, which I'm sure you appreciate takes just as long.

We can't pre book tickets as we don't know from day to day if my Grandad is well enough to attend or if its not too cold for him etc. We try to get to the game early to make sure we can drop him off outside, not be rushed into the ground etc.

I repeat I have no issue with people reserving seats, but we need to know which to avoid and both the people on the gate and the stewards need to follow the same procedures with a clear policy so we know what to do and where to go....if we are told we can sit anywhere not marked as reserved then I feel its fair for us to expect that to be the case.

Currently the club seem to make it up as they go along and due to the crowd size on Saturday (and some uncompromising arseholes who arrogantly insisted we moved after turning up 5 minutes before kick off and intimidated us untill my son started crying and asked to leave) we could not just move to the next row and were forced to walk my Grandad over to the family end and split up... That type of shite is not right and it was caused by the club and their failings.
