Squad 2024/25

Back in 79 early 80's me and my young mates on the pop side stiffled our embarressed mirth as the side ran out to the march of the mods. Seemed very old fashioned to us young lads at that time. Like we were ridiculing our own team.
Just for old times sake.

If only we had a scouting network that could find these young players. :-/ Hopefully we will put this right.

Maybe we should incorporate Bryn into our new team badge????? A German Sheperd chasing away the Bristolian Shitehawks

Sell some new tee shirts with Jim and the Dog emblazened across the chest for the opening match? Better quality than this of course.....

Fixed it for you. :-D There is a section for notable individuel German Sheperds at wiki. But our Bryn seems to be missing.

Neil Warnock great bloke

Neil’s one-man show is all in aid of The Gulls! :scarf: :keepie:

Fresh from being unveiled as Torquay United’s new Football Advisor earlier this month, Neil Warnock is bringing his very successful national one-man show ‘Are You With Me?’ to Torquay’s recently-refurbished Princess Theatre on Friday, 28th June (7.30pm), with all profits going to TUFC!

Celebrity Gulls fans Helen Chamberlain and Charlie Baker will also be joining Neil on stage, making this is an unmissable event for Gulls supporters…and football fans everywhere!

With Warnock’s remarkable career in football spanning nearly 60 years, this event is expected to sell out quickly, with tickets available from the Princess Theatre, Torquay website on Tuesday 4th June at 10am.

New role for Gary

I think it could be a difficult first season as we have a new manager and a new team to assemble in a short space of time. I'm giving them plenty of free rein this season. I will be giving the whole of the club my support whatever happens. Just happy we have a new start with decent people in charge. And we are moving in the right direction.

Good luck to Cheltenham but I'm happy with our new direction.

culmstockgull wrote: 22 May 2024, 14:29 The list of outstanding creditors just shows how badly the club was being run and running costs were not only out of control but there was no control, £2900 to a bistro in paignton ( perhaps someone could explain that one), £990 pounds to an embroidery service ( perhaps as part of his ludicrous contract johnson had to have his initials embroidered on his pyjames), 7000 to a accountants company in newton abbot( I thought thats what we had mel Hayman for) over 140K to the inland revenue, water and electricity that havent been paid for goodness knows how long and certainly long before feburary when osborne pulled the plug. Many thousands owed to clubs we took loan players from like colchester and fleetwood, small outfits like ourselves that need every pound that is owed to them, I am surprised with our track record anyone will loan us a player. Torquay United wasnt being run on any business model that I understand but by people who realised these costs could never be paid but continued spending anyway.
So right.
Makes me boiling mad that these people were deemed fit and proper people.
After seeing the debts owed I'm even more grafeful for Bryn delivering us from these untrustworthy scum.
We must never again allow our club to get in such a mess.

Well I would say £285k what the club was worth if it were liquidated/sold off to pay creditors. Now it has new owners who are willing to settle those debts.
