TUST - Show Venom and a backbone

Chelmsford and Slough manage in this league on crowds of around 800. I really don't see a problem in us getting 800 even if we were in a leagues below this level.

I would be more inclined to get to plainmoor if the club really needed my support to climb back up through the leagues.

I'd also be willing to put some of my own cash into the club to help out if the fans ran the club.

Johnson latest drivel

Bristol_Gull wrote: 11 Feb 2024, 10:04 Is this sarcasm? I can’t tell.
If I was Gary Johnson I wouldn't have slept well last night. I would be taking a good long hard look at myself and my defensive coach.
No Sunday off as we need to sort out some problems with shambolic defending for Tuesday.
FIFTEEN goals conceded in 4 games means nobody deserves a Sunday off this week.

How dare you? I bet Johnson and Downes got the defenders in for a special training session this morning. Right now they are at the training ground. Bedding in the new defenders and instilling confidence for tuesday. That is what a good manager does.

The Play Offs

We are bottom of the form league. 14 wins and 14 defeats. Lost the last 4 games and conceded 15 goals.

The play offs are looking unlikely now. :-/

Truro Away - Now at Taunton - ? Date

United’s away trip to Truro City on Tuesday 27th February has been postponed.

This is becoming ridiculous. Seems very foolish for Truro to have moved to Taunton. How the hell are they going to fit all the games in with only 10 Saturdays to go. Now we are going to suffer.

Ronny Nelson Joins Gulls On Loan

Yes, this has also been my main criticism of Gary Johnson. It has been bleedin obvious right from the start of the season where the problem was. 50 goals now conceded in 30 games. Very very frustrating but better late than never I suppose.
Still feel that we should make the playoffs.

Yes you both must be right.

I wondered as I know you can't dispose of any assets and they freeze the bank accounts.

Not many torquay or taunton players are assets

More problems for Taunton

February 8, 2024
Club Statement
Taunton Town Football Club can confirm that as of Friday 2nd February, it has been placed under an immediate transfer embargo following the issue of a winding up petition. The club will make no further comment at this stage.

I hope Torquay haven't broken any rules by signing Booth 3rd Feb after this date?

New Blue Card

Dave wrote: 08 Feb 2024, 19:00
How many times not just in post TUFC games but in other football has the talk been centred around a player being sent off ruining the game as a contest or spectacle, how many times have we talked or heard talk of a player being unlucky to be sent off as one of the two yellow cards wasn't warranted, having the option to use the sin bin will cut down on the number of red cards, and will enhance football.
Two blues or a blue and a yellow would mean a red and a sending off.

Taunton have always had issues with their pitch. It is sheer stupidity to play even more games on that pitch. Just asking for trouble and more games off

How to Form A Phoenix Club For Dummies

I think it is entirely possible to start a phoenix club should the worst happen. My worry is that plainmoor is sold off. I just don't trust any of them.

Only today I read that the councils are being incentivised to dispose of assets to fund their budgets.

We could do with local Torquay united supporters becoming councillors.
