The Truro players seem to be quite happy with the arrangement - a fair few live nearer Torquay than Truro!MellowYellow wrote: ↑24 Jul 2018, 14:24 Truro City to give unhappy fans refunds on season tickets following move to Torquay United's Plainmoor.
Truro must vacate Treyew Road by July 31st 2018, (nine days away.) to turn their ground into a Lidl Supermarket.
In response to their unhappy fans who will now have a 160 mile round trip if the wont to see their team play, Truro have said "We will say now that any person who has already purchased a season ticket for Treyew Road will be offered a full refund should they not wish to take up the opportunity of subsidised travel".
Truro first home match (plainmoor) against Billericay on 4 August .... Anyone goings Thought not! So 12 cups of teas and a pasty for the Truro fans it is then - aside from the Truro fans you have to feel for the Truro players and the opposition having to play in a ghost stadium.
O'well it will be are turn next - ground share with Truro whilst to await Clarkes new stadium.

You are correct - £3million still awaited from the Government. The Business Plan hasn't even been submitted yet! It appears this is in the hands of Cornish Pirates.

Very pleased you have posted this - agree entirely with your comments. Unfortunately, it was a very naive, uncalled for attempt to vent his pent up anger towards Osborne. Too much time spent on this Forum I fear!Plainmoor78 wrote: ↑01 May 2018, 16:29 I think you have got this all out of context. Higgins and Lathorpe are in the position of having their careers finished, whilst having to support their families and I doubt very much those two earned an absolute fortune during the careers. They are both victims of fate which can befall anyone, they didn't choose for what has happened to them to occur, it is bad fortune.
The fans make their sacrifice out of choice. They don't have to attend matches or pay for raffle tickets etc. You yourself have made a choice not to attend matches, so can anyone. If the fans are victims of is because they have chosen to be so.

That's good to hear, Dave.Southampton Gull wrote: ↑26 Oct 2017, 07:49 There are plenty of others willing to step in should he move on. Eastleigh are a lot more solid financially than certain people seem to think. As I've said before, they've spent 30 years gradually improving on and off the field but they always consolidate at a level before moving forwards. There are still several Committee men from my time there all involved in the day to day operation of the club which is a hive of activity 7 days a week.
They've come a long way since I won the Wessex League with them, often vying with Histon for promotion, I'd say their journey is far from over and fully expect them to achieve League status in the next couple of years.
They certainly have made remarkable progress. In the early 1980's I was involved with IOW Club, West Wight FC, and remember playing them very successfully in the Hampshire League prior to the Wessex League forming in 1986.
Just shows what can be achieved if you have committed people all working together.
By the way, I didn't realise Histon played in the Wessex League, I thought they were a Cambridgeshire side!

Yes, they will be OK as long as the owner, Stewart Donald, stays with the Club. He has already put £10 million in and there could be more as he already indicated he would put more money in to get them to where they want to go - fully established in the Football League. Whether that would change if he became more involved again at Oxford Utd - who knows!Southampton Gull wrote: ↑25 Oct 2017, 23:17 The bubble won't burst, just a poor run of form according to a few of my mates. They always seem to spend a couple of years trying to go straight up before consolidating and waiting for the right time. They're still improving off field projects so I wouldn't worry too much about them sustaining the rise of the club.

Well said, sir!Neal wrote: ↑20 Oct 2017, 08:42 I'm making a general point on people, behaviour, opinions and commenting.
There are lots of people out there (work, politics, life in general) who whinge and moan about everything, BUT DO F*CK ALL themselves to try and change things. Sick of it to be honest. And I include myself in that, BUT I do understand that, AND I try and not whinge and moan, because I doubt I could do better.
Its like the people at work, who f*cking moan all the bl**dy time, WELL Hand in your notice then, p8ss off!! but they don't, they carry on moaning because in actual fact, they enjoy it, it makes them happy, they even like the fact it makes other people depressed.
Same on here actually, and when their caught out, "It was only a joke", b8llocks!!
Theres a job going on TUST, lots of opinionated people on here, any of you applying? NO, thought not. And I do include myself in that before some bright spark points that out!

As the stars align I found myself back in my home town today and, with the sun out and a beer or two in town behind us, a mate of mine and myself decided to venture to the Turnbull Ground to witness the home debut of John Campbell for Whitby Town.
Kick off and the ball gets passed to the left back. JC looks for the channel and gets a ball over the top to run onto. Gets caught in a divot and twists his ankle. And on comes the sub after four minutes...all of 25 seconds action for our Geordie hero.
Had a word with him afterwards as he hobbled by. His comment "gutted, I'd have scored a load against this lot". Given that the score was 3-2 in the end hard to disagree!
