Its a pleasure to be able to give credit to 5 players for a change:
1. Hodgkiss
2. Sparkes
3. Young
4. Williams
5. Verma.
AS special mention also to Keating - he has potential and deserves a start.

Torquay Utd V Sutton Utd 25/02
It is difficult to put into words how I felt after the game today. It was the lack of effort that disappointed me more than anything. I accept that we are a poor team but when you see players not trying that is unforgivable. I went into number 10s for a drink after the game and a few of them came in within 15 minutes of the game ending. They didn't seem that bothered.
LRT - utter disgraceful performance.
McGinty - Distribution is utter shite. Supposed to be a professional footballer and cannot pass a football 10 feet.
Verma / Lathrope - waste of space. Got no hope of staying up with those two in midfield.
Moore - making far too many mistakes.
I thought it would be that lack of fire power that would likely relegate us. But we have no midfield and no defence either. I rear the worst!!

Torquay v Macclesfield, National League, Sat. 11 Feb. 2017, 3:00 pm
The conditions weren't great but that cant excuse the shocking first half performance (one of the worst iv seen but I have been saying that a lot lately!!). No desire, no commitment and very little skill.
McGinty is a good solid stopper and arguably that is what he is there to do. But, he has absolutely zero ability with the ball at his feet. How Man U were ever interested in him I don't know.
What was Moore doing giving away an indirect free kick inside the area? That's now the second timer ive seen him do that. The Macclesfield forward did absolutely nothing wrong.
Courtenay - time to go and should never be captain.
LRT - Like your new boots but shame you cant use them. Positioning again leaves a lot to be desired.
The second half was an improvement to some degree. At least we tried to play football even if it were only for a short period.
I thought Anderson looked really promising on debut, good solid display. Keating came on for the last 5 minutes and he put himself about. Reid had a good start to the season but he is looking really poor lately.
Its going to be the home form that keeps us up and judging on yesterdays performance it will be a struggle. All in all, a point gained but are the players good enough and do they have the fighting spirit?

Anderson - solid debut, looks promising.

Not much from the rest and another really poor game.

Nah, well get something out of this one. Likely to be a scrappy game but I think we will dig in. Going for 2-1 to the Gulls. Williams and Moore. Attendance 1573.

I can only name 3 I'm afraid:
1. LRT - Didnt put a foot wrong - did ok.
2. Fitzpatrick - nowhere near last weeks performance but still one of the better players.
3. Reid - tried hard again but no service. Too many long balls pumped in his direction.
4.

Hmmm. If that is what the radio commentary said, I'm not sure what game they were watching. Yes, we had decent possession at times but did absolutely nothing with it. The urgency and temp from the previous 2 games just wasn't there. I cant remember a decent chance apart from Chaney's long range shot that struck the outside of the post. Really disappointing because that was certainly 3 points lost. No idea what McGinty was doing for their goal, he just needed to clear the danger when he had the chance. I don't want to be too critical because I am seeing an improvement from earlier in the season but unfortunately still some way to go!!!SuperNickyWroe wrote:FT 0-1
Played well and were unlucky according to the commentary.....

I hope not but, I think our approach to this game will be a lot more cautious than the previous 2 matches. Saying that, we should win as long as we show the same determination. I'm going for 2(1) -1(0) to the gulls. Attendance 2083 (or is that slightly optimistic)? I'm also looking forward to a proper meat pie (rather than the rubbish served up at FGR)!!

Agreed Acradia - I would also be upset if Chaney is dropped as he certainly deserves another chance. He seems to be getting better each week. Saying that, Harrod would fit into a similar role judging on what I saw of him last week and he also has the experience that Nico is after. I think there is certainly a role for Harrod to play so I am pleased to see him back.

I totally agree with Portugull on this one. I really don't see any point in keeping Bliss if he wants to leave (and I assume he does). If we eventually get 30k, I think that isn't a bad deal for someone out of contract in 4-5 months. There is no point in having an unhappy player. Also, its not as if Bliss is banging the goals in.portugull wrote:Disagree Dazza. If you read the OS there is a long piece from Kevin Nicholson about the Bliss transfer to Argyle.
Remember in 4 months time Bliss would be out of contract in terms of playing.
The fee is "undisclosed" so no one on this Forum can be certain what the actual fee is but if it reaches £30,000 then I can see why the Club did the deal..
If Bliss had scored 20 goals this season, he has in fact scored just 4 goals, then I would agree with you.
Remember - we scored 5 goals last week without him in what appeared to me a much better system. I think Harrad will be totally committed and will be better suited to the players we have.

I hear that Sean Harrad has just left Wrexham after his short term deal expired. Might we go back in for him, especially as Bliss appears to be leaving?

Forest Green v Torquay new years day 2017
Well done to the 450 travelling fans who were in good voice today. What a great game even if we couldn't quite hang on at the end. Perhaps KN could have got the boys to close out the game better but hey, I don't want to criticize anyone after that wonderful afternoon of entertainment.
The food was shocking though; chips or chips and curry sauce (unless you are vegetarian). Come on FGR sort that out!!
