Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18
Dagenham needed to do very little to take the points. A Weak, spinless performance. Grim!!!!!
At one nil down I expected to see a reaction. Totally the opposite. We're doomed.

Torquay United v Dagenham and Redbridge - Matchday thread - 17/02/18
Obviously the next 3 games all being at home will define our fait. 6 or 7 points from those will give everyone hope. Points at home are crucial and today is the obvious must win given Dagenhams current problems. I'm going for 2-0, Young and Williams. Crowd 1785.
The 2 games following are much more difficult so today is the key. Let's all get behind the boys; Yellow Army!!!

I'm going for 1 - 1 with JP to score the first goal of the game. Probably to our advantage to get them first up at home.
Crowd 2346 - boosted by our new Academy boys (sorry Torquay in the Community boys!!)

Rory Fallon
Judging by what I saw of him against Argyle and Truro there is no chance of him finishing top scorer. Realistically, I cant see him being with us at Christmas. Massive improvement needed if he is to be!!tomogull wrote: ↑01 Aug 2017, 18:01 Ryan Brunt has today signed for City. No real surprise there, but that was the final straw we were clutching. So after Karl Hawley and Shaun Harrad, we have yet another striker kicking over the embers of his football career. We can only hope that we all end up with egg on our faces as Rory Fallon steps up to the plate and Kevin Nicholson is proved right in placing faith in him.

I cant get over this one, thought it was a joke at first. The only good point is that being on a non contract we can let him go as soon as he shows he cant cut it. Fallon looked immobile and totally unfit against Plymouth. He may be cheap but we will still be paying him a weekly wage. Surely that money could have been used to supplement the wages of a decent young, hungry loan signing!! I don't want to be too negative because we've also made some decent signings but this is surely a mistake.

NEW SIGNING: Jordan Lee
This is one of the signings of the season, only hope we can keep him longer than 6 months. Jordan was one of our best player by the end of last season. Well done TQ for pulling this deal off. I genuinely thought he would have gone to at least a league 2 club.

James Gray signs
Obviously we desperately need another striker, but I would have thought KN would have waited until he saw him tomorrow night against stronger opposition. Were other clubs sniffing round?

TUFC 2017/18 Squad
2 solid signings today. I was a little frustrated with the lack of progress but the squad is slowly taking shape. A few more in this mould and we really should be a lot more competitive. I think priorities now are fullbacks and a goal keeper. It doesn't seem that Moore is returning, surely he would have re-signed by now?
Well done Kev, so far!!

Keating Signs!
Its a bit of as concern that only one of those players who have been offered a new deal has actually signed. I assume they must be considering their options and seeing what is available elsewhere. Do they have 28 days from the date the deals were offered or do I have that wrong? If so, hopefully we should hear some news early next week.
Is this me just being impatient or does it normally take this long?

See Fitzpatrick has been released by Wimbledon. What a signing that would be. Unlikely to be able to afford him though!!

Final Game - North Ferriby @ 12:15
Surely Sparkes is worth risking for this one, probably our player of the season. Apart from Young, he's the only one that can deliver a decent cross. He has to play even of only 90% fit.

Incredible support
Thanks for the support Jordan. Ive never been to Macclesfield, maybe I can tick that one off next season, fingers crossed.
I went to Gateshead away last year. From memory it was Easter weekend or maybe a week later - 800 mile round trip. Not sure why I did it or if I will again; seemed a good idea at the time. Started out around 05.ooam and got home 02.15. My boy was ok, he slept just about all the way home, but I drove and was knackered.
All the best with your project.

Final Game - North Ferriby @ 12:15
This will be the only home game that I have missed all season, absolutely gutted. I pray that I will still have a team to support next season and at a decent level. I think we will win but I have to say that I am nervous about it. An early goal would settle everyone down and really help to get the rowd going!! My starting X1:
Moore
GG Anderson McGinty LRT
Lathrope
Lee Young Sparkes
Williams
Keating
Reid to start on the bench and used as an impact sub.
Lathrope just about gets the nod for me. What does everyone else think?

Keating was man of the match for his sheer determination and attitude (shame we haven't got more players like him).
Williams - took his 2 goals really well and has ability.
Reid
